Okay, Who Screwed Me Out of A Story Last Night?

,

WOW

Last night I found this wonderful box of screws for sale on ebay. I went to bed with a smile on my face. I have a story for tomorrow. I was imaging fun headlines and Wow metaphors. How if you owned these screws, you could restore the ultimate GarWood, with original NOS Keeler Brass Company, which made the “Perfection” brand screws, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

3/4 -7 Oval-Head Nickel

Now I knew that it might be a risky move, since stuff like this could sell fast. But, it’s Sunday and it will last at least til this morning.

Perfection

And what the hell? I go looking for it this morning, and one of you…you…you.. bought the dam box of 15,500 NOS screws and here I sit. Storyless. COME ON, have some pitty. Yes, it was Buy It Now for $400. Which considering it was 15,500  screws is actually a deal. Never mind shipping may cost that much, and the box.. OOOOFFFF!

LOVE THE BOX and Handwriting.

The box alone is worth at least $100. How cool is that. Although you would need to be careful presenting that to your family when it comes in the mail. LOOK, isn’t this cool, I paid $400 for this old box of screws.. But we know here, how cool it is….was.. UGH.. I hope the shipping costs you $500.. Thanks for nothing.. You..you.. Nickel plated brass 3/4″ X size 7 Oval head screw person..you!

HERE IS THE LINK TO EBAY.. UGH

It was I who purchased it late last night and guess what? This morning I have to explain to my wife what I exactly bought…15,500 screws! But, you know I’m from Grand Rapids, MI and had to get it just for the box.

Nice job Brandon! No kidding, I’m reading this story and thinking “Brandon should have bought that!” Let’s take some victory pictures with it and send another story off to Matt so he can sleep better tonight.

The guy said there was 15,500 in all. Can you come over this evening Brian and help me count and make sure that’s what I got? :O

Me too! When my father passed away a few years ago I inherited his collection because I couldn’t bear to throw them away. Lots of odd ball stuff but incredibly organized.
Every now and then I root through it to find the exact screw or bolt I need saving me the one hour round trip to the hardware store.
It makes me smile while I think of him.

    Hey Brandon!
    Thanks for bidding!
I have a LOT more screws from the Garwood Factory, but they aren’t in a cool box like this one. Some of them are in burlap bags with the GARWOOD Logo on them, but they are pretty faded.
Anyway, I will package it safely and ship it tomorrow.
    Sincerely,
    Chuck Grewe
