Putting Stinky and Lil Stinky away for the winter
Yesterday I spent a couple hours getting Stinky tucked away. But yikes. I need to build some sort of lift thing that I can build on the spot and take down. This way of jacking and praying is not for the faint of heart.

Get one section of pallet racking. It is easy to set up and take down. Been doing it for years.
Great idea. With a couple short sections of 2X6 you can use it outside.
Is it OK to store for the winter on a trailer with properly placed bunks?
This is what I use.
That what I use on the front and have it set up with bolts to take apart and stack when not in use. Use a engine host on the rear.
Matt, A tilting trailer with rollers will allow you to push the boat rearward (while still hitched to the tow vehicle). Set the it on the rear “cradle” with it’s wheels locked. Drive forward and set the forward “cradle”….drive out, done.
Ok I have to ask….why the need to take boat off of trailer?
Rollers and wood boats should NEVER be used together and perhaps even in the same sentence, correct?
The pallet idea is great. Strong and easy to set up, take down and easy to store.
I had to accomplish about the same thing on a hydro at the museum — used one of those engine hoists to hook to a lifting ring. It appears that your lift ring are close enough so that there would be just a short reach. Those hoists fold to store when not in use.
I’m with Briant, why take it off the trailer? It does look nicer off the trailer, and would be easier to move around, but the dollies seem to be the same as trailer bunks.
come next season, you’ll have to go thru it all again in reverse.

What flooring is under the boat? Looks great…would like to do something similar but not sure what’s durable when rolling over it would jacks.
Matt, invest in some gantry hoists! Then you just hook them to the bow and stern eye for a safe transition to the dollies. I have Williams Engineering boat dollies that my boats sit on during the off season to save space in my storage area.
