Pre Britney, Or Post Britney? The New Pre War, Post War Dividing Line
Yesterdays comment section took the usual turn of conversation…. Which I love BTW, and discussions were had about rotary phones and kids these days. It reminded me of a saying we have at work regarding conversations with each other. We have divided such things as either Pre Britney or Post Britney. As in Britney Spears. If it happened before Britney Spears was “the thing” like a Jethro joke, or Mae West reference, and you get that blank stare, if you just say Pre Britney. Or if the topic of conversation is T-Swizzle, well thats Post Britney. Have no idea do you? Ya, me either, nor do I care.
Now it gets interesting in topics like The Little Rascals. Your mind goes to the Spanky and our gang BW stuff, and yet there was a new version. So see.
We think is pre war and post war. to kids these days, which war? See.
And because you all were so kind to humor me in my spewing.
Do we go back as far as the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993 when Britney was on with Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Justin Timberlake?
whos this brittney you speak of
thanks woody boater
Matt did you put the Chris Craft on the rotary phone dial Or was it a ebabie score?
A good way to spend a Jan. morning. How is the term “Woody” determined in pre or post Brittany?
Mark that is hard to understand.
I often stop back here in the evening to check out the later comments. Didn’t yesterday & guess I should have, We all have our place on history’s timeline. My grandmother’s life – gas lights & room heaters, party-line phones, coal fireplaces, outhouses, going out on the porch & hand-pumping water to bring in & heat on the stove – is just as foreign to me, as a phonebooth for Superman to change in, is to today’s youth. I remember trying to teach my son to read an analog clock. When I’d ask him the time & point to the clock, he’d run to another room to read a digital. But at 20, an analog, military-time clock was on his Christmas list. But, so much of what I know about using modern tech – like this device I’m typing on now – has come from him. I think the trick is figuring out what’s just trendy crap & what will soon be indispensable knowledge. Then being willing to learn the later, while still hanging onto what’s useful of the old ways.
Boy that header sums up this country.
On the left we have the fast, sporty progressives speeding off into the sunset.
On the Right, we have the unconventional conservatives, holding on tight to the beautiful past.
And in the middle….
Millions of morbidly obese entitled materialistic people who think they deserve every luxury known to mankind simply because they exist, taking up too much space on an increasingly crowded lake, spending money they do not really have.
Not shown though are some folks, ahem, who like to zoom about some days, yet who also enjoy a nice cruise in a blast from the past.
She sure was a hottie back then. Still is pretty cute.
