From a brochure on all the crap that can happen. Ugh,
We haven’t had a a good Sausage Day in a while. Hopefully you are getting some great fall last gasp shots this weekend. So grab your coffee varnish and let have some sausage. For thos new to sausage day, it’s a day of disconnected story ideas that never made an entire story.
A nice button to wear.
Want to go for a boat ride?
Ya! Then there was that idea. What could possibly go wrong?
Miss Buttaface! Old photo on ebay. Hey dont get mad at me, i didnt take it.
Great ad for Century Boats. Love the use of fishing poles. This is when print advertising was smart!
Go ahead Darla, go out in the parking lot and stand on top of the boat!
Marina keys. No story, just a cool shot.
I was gonna do a story on engine paint, but classic boating magazine nailed it and there isn’t really a better story on the subject. Original can at Katzs Marina
Headed to the 29th annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show…
Gotta love the ridiculousness of those old ‘Popular Mechanics’. Seems like they hold the record for the most number of half baked ideas that made it to the cover. One could only wonder what their editorial meetings were like when the decisions were made on what to put on the cover! Thanks for the laugh. It was exactly what I needed as I have asked myself why in the hell did I get up in the middle of the night.
“Launching Ramp For Skiers” AND “Build Your Own Pontoon Boat” in the same issue-Yipe!
Found these in an old service manual
I opened up the brightness. I see these are 1972 colors. The great thing about the Classic boat article is how these colors shifted over time. Not just pre war and post war. I would imagine different base colors and tints, and laws , locations and so one would have varied the colors a bit.
the blue, there is a slight tint of red in this blue which I have found very nice and adds a tone of warmth
After just one swim lesson I can send my kids off the ski ramp behind my home built pontoon? No life jackets of course. That sounds like it would be worth the 35 cents.
Society might be better off if the ski ramp idea “took off” and the Pontoon boats… not so much.
I use autocolorlibrary then put in year of the boat and use the color of the era..or close,PIC IS 54 chevy colors BILL
Would rather have a pontoon boat cruising by than a water skier or wakeboarder. Skiers buzz docks and shore areas and their boat wake makes for greater shore erosion and/or damage to boats tied up and floating dock damage due to their careless attitudes. And I’m an avid skier, but I’ll wait til the water calms a stay out of the narrow creeks or bays.
My key board works backwards. First you find the boat you like, then look at the small number on the ignition switch, then grab the correct key and go for a ride. Worry about whose it is later.
