Somethings Fishy At The Algonac Lions Club Pickerel Tournament

Thats worth a buck! Oh Ya..

Are you in? You could get a Cobra for $1. Thats right 1 buckaroo. Now the expiration date may be a little past, but. Whats a little printers ink anyway? Algonac lions club gave away

Woohoo, I could win a Chris Craft! What? On display. What the hell? I already know what these are, I live in Algonac, we got Chris Crafts out the Wazoo here. Hell, I can’t cross the street without possibly getting run over by a train load of them. ON DISPAY! WTH?

I do get to go fishing with some buds though, and thats worth a buck. BTW, $1 in 1955 is equal to around $10 in todays dollars.

17th Annual!

A huge thanks to fellow long time Woody Boater Mike Flood for sharing the collection of old tickets. Tomorrow, used napkins found in the trash of Owen Smith’s bathroom. Oh ya. Oh, see Owen had a cold, and filled up the trash can, so we now have DNA and in the Woody Boater Labs are working on a clone! FOR DISPLAY!

Bring your ticket to the Algonac “Where it all Began” antique and classic boat show on June 24 & 25. You can celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chris Craft with the Michigan gang!

Oh I can’t wait to pick through Owen’s trash as there might be a note showing his call to my grandfather seeing if he wanted to buy Molly-O. The only way the I know of this information is from my grandfathers mouth and we all know how much he loved Scotch. hehehehe!

A Cobra for a buck in 1955, your not going to fool a local with that offer. The winning ticket holder wasn’t falling for that nonsense. The offer was a Cobra boat or $2500 cash, naturally Earl Smith of Marine city, Mich. took the $2500!

$2,500 in 1955 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $26,007.65 today, an increase of $23,507.65 over 67 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.56% per year between 1955 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 940.31%…..He would have been far better off with the Cobra

The Boat in the Picture is actually a 21 foot model—-The photo was taken on the St Clair River—-My records show a 21 cobra going to the Algonac Lions Club in 1955. I can’t remember the Hull number and my records are in temporary storage Will follow up later
