Sometimes The Leftovers Are Better. Lake Minnetonka 50th Show By Kevin Fitzke – Part One

Mark Sutterholm’s Riva is timeless, man oh man that playpen is wonderful.
We got these images from Kevin last week, and put them in the fridge because of the big Lake Huron show. And man oh man, These images sure aged well. All the colors and textures just got all tasty. By now you all know I sure love me some cool photo processing. The click is just one part of the process. What you do with that, how you set it up, thats the artistic part. And Kevin has that in spades. And of course I get to make up the captions. So, sorry ahead of time, I just kinda let it flow. Dam the torpedos and Karens!

This image could have been taken the day the boat was delivered.

Again, Kevins composition is wonderful. The way the blue stands out is perfect. The slightly defused light.

These could have been taken 50 years ago, which is a deep concept, dang

Okay. Okay. This is so wrong on so many levels. A model, and a pontoon boat. And yet.. Very cool idea

Rabbits GarWood model

They do reproduce? Just sayn

These models always amaze me, and shot in this style feel right

What the heck? The person in the background makes this shot fasinating

This is pure pink gold. WOW, The softness really captures the feel of the moment

Could be a factory image

A line up of outboards, and yet. A very nice image

HURRICANE

Okay thats just cool

Just apreciate this as an abstract image

Dang! I love this shot

Okay, Quick name the first song that comes to mind……Oh come on.
Okay back to our show

Feels right, nothing more I can say

What happened to outboard graphics. Amaing

Back to the pink lady

Well, you know thats a ride and a half

Oh good lord!

Dang, thats smaller than I would have thought…… Thats what she said! Oh come on, a good old thats what she said joke…

The color pallet on these images are right out of a 1950’s catalog

Dam!

Even the dumb ass paper on the windshield looks nice…ish. Okay it doesnt

FOR SALE, for the record, they are all for sale.

Novicane with lillys,

The Pea Soup is kinda a nice touch.. I am not kidding, we are so used to seeing perfect stuff these days, that this feels real. Feels like you just walked up to it. Which makes it even more wonderful.

The look gives it a wonderful warm old feel.

Reserved parking

Still one of my fave boats!

Light is a wonderful brush

These images make me smile, and go back to a time of a more crappy film stock and Instamatic camera. . Which is a great thing, like a little time travel

Another favorite. The dash is to die for. Okay, maybe I am channeling my inner hair dresser today. But it is so fab!

I could just sit there. Sweat and ruin the moment.

Just perfect.
STAY TUNED for part two. I am gonna try and find out more about this process on this film. Was it film? A Filter? A Setting? Light Room settings. The camera? Or maybe the secret of it all is what makes it so romantic. Maybe we don’t have to dissect everything, and just feel it. Just bask in the warmth of it all. Why does everything have to be so perfect? And after all what is perfect? That entire concept is subjective. As Leonard Cohen said “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in” Or “It’s such a fine line between stupid, and… clever.” David St. Hubbins.

Some very creative images of some very nice boats. Sister Syn, a truly unique and historic racer, has really made the show circuit this year.
Great images!
So I didn’t know the Spinal Tap song, but I was thinking along the same line.
“Could have been taken 50 years ago….”
Nope, 1940 CC BB 86 years ago, just finished and in the LOL show!
That was just some good stuff. Thanks Kevin and Matt.
Reminds me of the thousands of photos I have in a shoebox I spent $$ on getting developed. Remember those who dissed digital because it lacked color saturation between the pixels?
Every part of these boats are a work of art. Makes me appreciate the closeups more and more. Great photos.
“Lickety Split. That’s what she said”. Uh Oh, Matt may have opened up a can of worms with the “That’s what she said” jokes.
The boats were gorgeous as usually, The Capri finish was flawless, he nailed it, but have to say That Freddie and his Strut and Wow, a Killer band…video was a great finish, leaving me wanting more…
Matt Im going to the Wheels Keels and wings event in Topping Va this Saturday I will take some pics and send them to you.
