Stinky Wrights Todays Story!

,

I could float here all day.

Stinky here, I have given the day off to Matt, he is still recuperating from that section of road in Michigan. Well, so am I. I mean I have some loose screws, and some completely missing. But I did make it home and back in the barn and thought I would write down some thoughts from an old boats perspective.

MY ANCESTRAL HOME

First, I can tell you.. not because I am a boat, but because the excitement of going to my ancestral home for the first time in over 80 years was very emotional. Mixed emotions actually. I mean if you think about it, I was shipped off to Atlanta and never really got a chance to grow up with my varnish relatives. Nope, just packed onto a train and sent to the heat and humidity of overweight BBQ packed good old boys.

Lester

But I had a great life, and I am really enjoying my time in the stud farm stage of my life. But visiting my birth place was going to be interesting. My grand parents are there, Godfather, sisters, and some other relatives from later in life I was never able to meet.

I visited one of my amazing relatives.

Godfather

Time has been kind to Cobra 003.

Okay, some held up great, I mean cousin Cobra looks like he just got a tan and aged very little, and some, well, got some plastic surgery and some major facelift action. Some have had some transition stuff. Like they started as a Lancer and now are a ? I am not sure.

Cool

Hey, I aint judging, but I was brought up in the country in Georgia in the 1940’s so? HEY, I am growing here. After all, I had some plastic work done myself.

Oh heck ya it was great to let loose and let that fresh water flow through me

I was surprised about the water, and honestly could have floated in it all day, which I did, and as the day went on, I felt more, myself.

Slow and steady.

I was also surprised to find that I had some tug boat in my genes? I mean what? And all the folks there are so nice. And after just a couple hrs of motoring around, felt like I had always been there. And the world became a little smaller, and my mind opened up to the future, and how we are all one big family all around the world.

Hey Stinky, all the Michigan gang boats were thrilled to meet you and cruise with you in Algonac. We will miss you but want you to come back and visit soon!

I guess Stinky is like that long lost cousin you haven’t seen in years that’s been “rode hard and put away wet” as they say but has been reborn.

    Wish I had been there!

I was born in Cadillac, MI, so it probably would not have been quite the same, but still would have LOVED it. Still wish I could have gotten one of those bricks from the old plant to nestle in my bilge.
