Suzy’s Last Gasp – The Grand Premiere Of Woody Boater Productions
Get out the red dock carpet. You are seeing it here first. This is our first step into Video. Yes, I do this for a living, but those TV spots require cameras, trucks, editors, actors..Set design.. This was me in a inner tube with an iphone, editing on iMovie.. But when you are out there and the sun is setting you improvise. The footage was shot two weeks ago in Reedville VA. The Weekend was perfect.. A great way to end the season..Enjoy
Beautiful video. And a fancy soundtrack as well.
I can’t help but picture Matt floating on an inner tube while shooting this video.
Suzy, watch where you’re going, and DO NOT get my iPhone wet!
You were a sitting duck,…..I am alittle seasick…..
Yes I was a floating duck, and the photo of my blobbness will never be published. That poor inner tube held up well. Me in my under wear in the water flaoting.. i am surprised the guys from Whale wars did not come by to protect me. When I got out of the water, the tide went down.. I was attacked by a shark, never felt it, he was there just for the marbeled part of me.. I have more..

“…..in the water flaoting…..”
Flaoting? Is that like……….flatulating? No wonder Suzy put you out of Suzy.
I wish I had been, it was cold…
Nice work, Suzy looks like a lot of fun. Where are all the other boats?
Nice video, music was a nice addition. You must have some decent ballast not to have rocked more in the waves. Not sure I would trust my own wife in that situation, actually sure I wouldn’t. Probably find me mutilated and barnacle encrusted sometime next year and the boat sold cheap.
Matt B. the other boats are tucked away. Suzy is the go to boat for sure. Rick.. It did dawn on me.. I thought jesus, she is going to mow me down.. I have some very close ones.. All part of the fun.. Til ya die! It’s all about different angles and trying to get stuff that has not been shot before.
You must have a STRONG marriage to have a wife with a 420 Lincoln..NOT run you down….opportunity knocks….
Great vid…..rather listen to the Lincoln than the music!
John in Va.
great job, Matt. Always a sad time to put the boat away and realize you have to wait for a number of months before the weather is good enough again to get the boat back out.
Matt
Great video of a great looking boat and skipper. I will make sure we have an inner tube ready for you at Algonac 2012!
Greg
HA, Greg, unfortunatly..according to that skipper.. i have an inner tube always around my waist
I can smell the exhaust and feel the wind in my hair! I love this! Have a 1946 Sportsman…in So Cal…and our last day will not be until Jan 1, 2012! Photos to follow.
My wife would never run me over because I am the one that scrapes the hull, changes the fuilds and gets the boat from the land to the water. I have positioned myself as indispensible. Every boat loving woman needs good deck meat to get her on the water without all the fuss and muss. Matt I love the water craft you used for the shoot. Very little freeboard. Yet extremely bouyant.
Love the header. I like the way Hessel Looks like the TI.
That glory shot at the end brought tears to my eyes. An iphone, you say? God bless Steve Jobs!
Very enjoyable video of Suzy and Suzy. Nicely done considering the equipment used. I loved the view of Suzy disappearing into the golden sunset.
It would have been a helpless feeling if she hadn’t return for you. News Flash “Local man found drifting on inner-tube in his underwear on Chesapeake Bay. Charges pending…”.
“Shane, Shane, come back!”
Shane – great classic movie. I watched it 3 times in a row on dime night when it first came out.
Nicely done! That engine sure don’t sound like a K or even a SBC. It sounds more like the plant from little shop of horrors, “feed me Seymour, feed me!”
It’s pure power, 430 Lincoln..a 427 for all intensive purposes.. Dave Van Ness masterpiece. Monster 4 barrel. No mufflers.. When I nail it at about 3000-4000 rpm it screams and sounds like a dragster coming down the water. This boat with a small block is nothing compared to this.. Add on 8 people and it does not even notice..
There is no substitute for Cubic Inches…
Jets and rockets are both great substitutes for cuin, provided someone else is picking up the tab.
A fine taste in music and boats. A real treat. Thanks.
Wow, You are talented Matt, I know a lot of editors that have edited in many different locations but I do not know of any who have attempted to edit in an innertube in the bay!!!
By the way.. you forgot to add that tv spots also need lighting. I did take it a little personally that you forgot the lighting guys..!
This video will come in handy to help cope with the cabin fever we will be experiencing this winter..
Lighting is everything, on this job, we booked the all mighty himself.. Note in the last sunset shot.. A Sun Dog! My lighting crew was non union by the way.. They worked overtime..
ooch!!!
Though the overtime does help put gas in the boat..!
This entire shoot was because of the light.. We were out there putting about, and I thought.. We aint gonna get this light again for some time.. So I plopped in the water and started shooting.. So one could say this entire job was because of the lighting crew.. Well worth the pay!
