The First Sunset Ride Of 2023, Thanks To Your Chosen Solor Deity

Two Sunsets in one shot. Like a Booster of sorts

Yesterday we slipped out for a sunset ride on Sweet Pea. Kinda strange to be taking sunset rides at 4PM but hey it was 60 and calm. So, start that baby up and lets roll. Now, I have been on this cruise so many times I don’t even really notice the golden skies and so on. But the clouds and sky were just insane out on the Bay. And especially coming in after the sun had set. Holy Crap!

Like a romantic painting, thats the Railway on the right. The ripple is my favorite part of this image.

My cynical thoughts of Dock shots and sunsets, were all just overtaken with the magic positive energy I was being given the opportunity to inhale. Mother Nature and all the Solor Deities were all working together to erase all the crap from the past 4 years of Ratings drama and sadness.

As cliche as it is, it still moves me.

And in a small way 440pixels I will try and share the spirit of such a moment. You can “right click” to enlarge. And yes, I wish the new site was live because it shows these images so much larger. UGH. I need a shot of sunset again please.

The Moon, The Birds, the joy of life and natures color palette

And Slim. She enjoyed it all as well.

Heading into 2023 is hopeful now

Waves of fog rolling across the Chesapeake Bay.

Mr B even was blown away

Watching magic happen out there.

Some moments can be fuel to sustain you. I took it all in.

Thanks to all of you for allowing me to share my heartfelt emotion to a simple sunset ride. By the way, no retouching or photoshop tricks were used in the production of todays story. It was all photographed on an iPhone 14 Pro. The images are even more insane on the phone witch pops the light. The new site will have that feature as well. UGH. I need one more sunset shot.

Oh hell ya! All good now!

It’s amazing what a wooden boat will transport us to if we open our eyes to the beauty that often surrounds us.

I’m sure that beautiful sunset was organized by a very good friend and fellow woody boater, Terry Tennant, who became an angle yesterday. Terry had OCD and my boatress said this morning that he probably shined up the pearly gates before he entered and told St. Peter to straighten his robe.
Rest in peace my good friend.

Sorry for your loss Art. Good friends are hard to find, and even harder to loose.

    Good morning Matt,

I have been a stalker for years. I just mainly want to say I really appreciate your efforts. I look forward to reading your site every day. I admire your skill with a camera of any kind and your artistic talent. I don’t have boats anymore, in part because I live in Jacksonville Florida and the St Johns rivers is just nasty. I go out with my brother once or twice a year on his 52 foot Hatteras cockpit motor yacht. I can’t believe how hard they have to work on the boat to keep in good shape. I included a photo of our dogs. Our Maverick favors Mr. B.

      Hi Mike the stalker:

Always good to hear from a new voice. It’s funny that you say that about the St. John’s since I am sitting here in the ANE (Atlantic North East) Jonesing to get back to the St. John’s in March. Currently trying to make some marina reservations in the area.

Matt: Great stuff as always. See you at Dora!!!!

(One of my favorite sunset views from Harrison’s rental on Lake Dora.)

Make that water tower picture into a jigsaw puzzle and sell them in the Woody motor store. I can find many other ways to spend your money because my kids have spent all mine, especially my son. Of course the foldable engine crane I just bought him along with the junkyard LS motor to replace the crappy clapped out 4.3 V6 in the refrigerator white 1500 series 97 Chevy Pick up that we’re going to lower so I can get my ‘04 Dodge diesel back from him which by the way needs rebuildable front ball joints which are $900 Not including labor that we’re going to install, so I can get my other ‘99 Dodge diesel back after we put a new clutch and pressure plate in so we can sell that to finance the six speed swap into the BMW which has a blown head gasket and then there’s the 97 Jeep Cherokee we gotta weld the new passenger side floor pan in that we cut out cause it had rust holes and that’s not even including the widebody kit for his twin turbo Toyota drift car he needs to buy and install but that’s on the back burner. And some time I’ve got to work on my boat.
