The Mighty Fine Art Of Artist Darrell Bush
As you know I am a sucker for beautiful art, being a designer by trade, and from a family of fine artists, I can’t help but appreciate great art work. But in the world of classic boats, it can be hard to come by, especially the kind you may actualy want in your house. Well, if you don’t know of Darrell Bush you sure do now. Darrell’s classic boat paintings have been collected since he released the Legend’s of the lake series in 1996, and to date has an impressive 18 Cabelas catalog covers! In other words, he is the real deal. Darrell does his research as well, gathering research for paintings from the Adirondacks in New York to Coeur d Alene Idaho and many points between.
You may have seen Darrell at several boat shows photographing boats and meeting collectors. Needless to say though, all this comes through in the work, that is the real proof. And right now, if you act quickly you can give yourself the holiday gift you really want. Just click here and start shopping.
Now, here are some other cool things you can do with Darrell’s art. First send a beautiful piece of art to your wife and just slip her name on the transom. Yes Darrell can do that. Just give your spouse the art, and she will get caught up in the fantasy, and BAM, you have yourself a boat in your future.
Or? Love your boat so much that you no longer have a spouse? Well, you can have Darrell do a custom commission piece of art. It may not get done by the holidays, but your alone anyway. You and your boat, sharing eggnog.. So maybe just start with a print right now.. Either way, Darreell’s website is a great gallery of fine artness. Enjoy and thanks to Darrell, for becoming a sponsor of Woody Boater.

Wait one minute. That stern art in that header looks familiar to me.
Nice work Darrell! Let me know if you are going to be at Dora, would love to say Hi.
Nope, guess the font is a little different.
Beautiful! Just Beautiful!! And Darrell’s paintings are really nice too!!!
Great name for Aviation too…
…and how about that nose artwork!
I love that name, its so fitting with those beautiful boats! No plans yet for Dora but its on my short list. Join my mailing list and I can keep you posted.
Good morning guy’s. I haven’t read today’s article yet I was on yesterday and reading an article that Texx wrote in 2011 that Troy provided. And it wouldn’t allow me to post thanks to Troy and a great job to Texx. The Captcha math was ?-2=4. Well I entered 6. And got error twice. Well I counted on my fingers, and then even counted out some red beans and down south it comes out as 6. Is there a northern math conversions o need to be using?
Any how now to read today’s article. And thanks to Troy and great job Texx!
Steve: Glad to be of assistance but the real thanks need to go to Texx and Matt for keeping the archives and this whole thing alive.
As far as the math goes you may be making the assumption that Matt keeps all these questions in Base 10. See if he changes it to like say base 4, well 6 does not even exist. Now try to make a post with that thought.
Steve there is probably some corrosion in the internet raw water coolant feed causing the captcha to overheat and give faulty readings. Unplug your the cable connection to the router and clean it with a wire brush. Might even find some pornography clogging it up.
Troy ur right this is one AWESOME site! Do you think they had the idea for it while under heavy adult beverage consumption! But again also tanks for the link to the pass.
Rick in think u may be up to somethingwhen I checked the heat exchanger there were several pin holes in It and when I pulled the impeller just about all the vanes were gone. Our pornographic player still only uses vinyl records. We’re still waiting on the box from Pandora to get that digital tunes.
Dang Darrell that a lot of nice artwork. Hard to pick a favorite. Although I liken the forward cruiser. In need at least one for the mancave, at least one!
Steve, I hope its a big cave. I would love to help you fill it!
Not too big but I would like a few. When I get a minute I’d like talk to u about doing a bayou banks lined with cypress trees an old camp and a Higging tied to the dock.
Matt, your timing is perfect. I just ordered a Christmas present for the First Mate from Darrell.
Thanks Greg! Santa tells me we will be shipping in the next couple days.
Off topic, did everyone see the vintage video put up by WoodenBoat on their Facebook page of people walking in front of a moving icebreaker? You can go to the WoodenBoat Facebook page for a cool video.
Rick – I tried to find a link to the video, but no luck. Its a great vintage video though. I like the dude riding his bicycle across the ice as the icebreaker roars in.
See if this works (Woodenboat facebook)—
I think this the icebreaker clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIcztFpx99c
… hmmmmmm, us cruiser guys are a bit underrepresented here — only saw a token one in the background. We need to unite and change this injustice!
By the beard of Zeus the whole scene reminds me of a gargantuan wright wale skimming for krill. Hey wait a minute kill don’t deliberately swarm a whale, do they? All very very cool and very very surreal
