Two Nazi Solders In A Chris Craft. What The?

Well, just when you think you have seen it all on ebay. Here is your chance to buy a photo of two Nazi officers in a what looks like a 1939 Barrel Back? Which invites the question. Well, I don’t know the question to be honest. It’s just is such a jarring image, and illustrates how global Chris-Craft was back in the day. It’s not all that hard to make the leap that the Chris-Craft was shipped to Germany and there they are on some Lake in Europe. Maybe Lake Como? It would be very cool to find out the history of this photo. And if you want to buy the photo. Well, its on Ebay of course.

    I believe they were on their way to the Lake Dora Thursday pre-party. They had the alcohol and were looking for some poultry on a stick.

    Well the truth is Colonel Wilhelm Klink was on a two day binge and Sgt Carter got this picture of him coming back from Hilda’s place after he danced the night away. LeBeau was jealous because he didn’t get to attend the party, only Newkirk did, as he was always the ladies man. I’m sure this was just before D day. This Chris Craft I’m sure is still in the Prop department of Universal studios. Un-touched!!! Take time today and thank a Veteran!!

    gents, glad to see that the pic has reached you. It was on the German Ebay for some years ago together with two more on that boat and I think it’s taken in the harbour of Antwerpen in Holland and on the other pics, you can also see the whole boat with the svastika at the back.
    What I know – only one 19 Barrel came over to Europe before WW2 started september 3 1939, and it was shipped over here as a show boat for the London Boat show. It was av singel covering board-boat and it’äs the one you see at the pic…
    And whats more? Yes – one more thing. The boat still remanins. I had my hand on her this morning at my shop. And I could feel the cold war-wind blowing through her hull. But she’s still a beauty. Hopefully ready for water again next summer.

      Anders, good to hear from you… So my data base shows seven 1939 19′ models that went overseas. Four to England, one to Syria, one to Switzerland, and #48519, the boat I believe to be in this pic and in your shop is the one that was on eBay in Lake Garda, Italy in 2008 – all basterdized, that was originally shipped to Amsterdam September 28, 1938. Right?

      My apologizes and my fault for reading an Excel spreadsheet on my iPhone. Your #48550 went to London and was single piece, which you already know. #48556, also a single piece went to Syria. The Bern, Switzerland boat, #48892 was likely a two-piece boat. So the Nazi’s could have been in either #48519 or #48550. Since Syria was controlled by the Allies during WW-II it probably was not #48556
