We Already Won The Race To Clayton!

We raced to the flea market! And won

We made it here to Clayton NY yesterday around 1:30 to puffy clouds, and happy people. All the volunteers were set up and quickly got us registered in. But first we bee lined to the flea market and were not disappointed at all. Walking right up to this very rare and cool Mercury Coverall. It was a no brainer and 5 seconds later, I now own one more thing to embarrass the Boatress.

Sorry dear!To quote the Boatress. ” HELL NO”

I will add that the list just keeps growing. But, it fit, which is shocking, but maybe that’s one of the positive side effects of dropping the weight. Speaking of waiting—

We are gathering some great photos. Wifi and internet here is aslow, and heck, its Saturday and you should be here, not reading this! The YNOT guys are here snapping away, Kent O.Smith Jr is killing it, so we are going to process all the goodness and have a nice couple days of Woody heaven. So if you can. Have a slice of pie, and stay tuned.

Matt, where did you get that cap. I have been looking for one of those since I lost the WoodyBoater one you sold years ago. It’s now at the bottom of the St. Clair River. If you have any more left, I am definitely a buyer.
Have a great weekend in Clayton. I know it will be easy to do!

Sea Go has been on the market for a long time. At the right price someone will be getting a very nice boat. It used to live in Muskoka where Tim Butson redid the bottom a number of years ago

    Matt,
Looking good! I almost didn’t recognized you. Great find. You should wear those to dinner tonight.
So are you looking to buy something at the auction?

We got back to Keuka about 8:15 tonight after spending two days at the show. That was the longest time I’ve spent there in many years. Saw lots of old friends and made some new ones. Hung with my “Bottom Feeder” buddies in the Marketplace where you had your choice of “nautical themed collectables” or old boat junk depending on your point of view.
Met Matt and one other Woody Boater (my apologies for not remembering your name). Checked out the auction boats and found nothing of real interest, although my wife surprised me by wanting to watch the bidding on the ’65 CC Super Sport like we had for a brief period. My reaction-“Why are you looking at this? You HATED that boat!”
A few adult beverages were consumed hanging out in and around my friend Bill Olmsted’s 25′ Continental who very graciously allowed it to be “party central”. All and all a fun couple of days-I’ll be back next year as I signed up to be a judge for the 2018 show.
