As we dig more into the history of the Thayer Family, after finding Thayer III fellow Woody Boater Bob Kays discovered this little gem on ebay! Looks like the old “Poop” had a side business going. Just goes to show you there is more to a family than just what they make movies about. Maybe this was his brother Ed Thayer? Ed was known to be into outboards? Maybe someone out there knows more about Thayer Boats & Motors?

Wilson, we had a party line at the lakehouse. My grandfather would always answer, even if it wasn’t our ring & tell the caller they had the wrong number. He also used to listen in on other conversations.
