Well, Well, Looks Like Old Norman Thayer Had A Side Business.
As we dig more into the history of the Thayer Family, after finding Thayer III fellow Woody Boater Bob Kays discovered this little gem on ebay! Looks like the old “Poop” had a side business going. Just goes to show you there is more to a family than just what they make movies about. Maybe this was his brother Ed Thayer? Ed was known to be into outboards? Maybe someone out there knows more about Thayer Boats & Motors?
The best part is the telephone number. You must be real old if you know how to dial that!
With a J on the end it looks like it might have been a party line…..Remember those ?..Wonder if Ethel would answer when you called ?
Wilson, we had a party line at the lakehouse. My grandfather would always answer, even if it wasn’t our ring & tell the caller they had the wrong number. He also used to listen in on other conversations.
Before you got Paul and Karen up on the header I say “17 days till Dora” thought I had fallen into some sort of worm hole here in Austin.
Cool Matches. What about THAYER V?
Did Roman Doctors call an I V a 4?
Now you are playing “Header Day” on me.
Norman: “Oh…my goodness! That crafty old sonofabitch bought an EVINRUDE, fer chrissakes!”
Ethel: “What the…HELL is the matter with them?”
Norman: “Hey, BUZZ OFF!”
Ethel: “Yeah…BUZZ OFF!”
