We’ve All Been Waiting For It. Boot Stipe.

,

First thing first, getting the bottom paint up to the line

Okay, maybe not all of us, me for sure, and Wayne. Get that dam boot stripe on. I will say, its about one of the most transformative visual things one can do. It’s up there with that first stain, or coat of varnish. The boot stripe just completes it all. Puts it all together purposefully. And, the tape removal is one of those pure satisfaction moments to see. And yes, I captured it so you all can see it happen.

I used a wider piece of tape to create the water line. Its a tad thicker than the original, and slightly narrower than the one before it

This was a guide to put tape on top of it and below it to create the negative space

AHHHHHHHHH

Like Butta, Used Epifanes White

All coming togteher, even the alum leaf is working with that slight texture

The Bronze paint BTW, is so so so much nicer than the new Pettit stuff. This has a glow about it. The only down side is it will turn dark quicker than the newer stuff. Real Copper does that.

And stay tuned, cause B is Back Inda HOOOOOOOUSE

Loud music, and a sunny 50 degree day!

Now that she’s done the strip tease, you have to get the chrome jewelry on her. Get the engine installed and she can start to sing!

She looks Gorgeous. The other word that comes to mind is Elegant. Wow! I’d like photos of the grin on your face when you are looking at her. I agree, I’ve enjoyed this process immensely. Well maybe the B font, size etc.. was a bit drawn out. Ha ha. And I’ve learned alot. Overall, 2 thumbs up for sure.

Thanks everyone, I gotta admit, I just sat there for about 10 minutes and thought. Dang, it doesnt suck as bad as I thought it would. This process has been so much fun and full of learning experience. I will though have to put up tape at the show about 20 feet away to keep the allusion working. Up close, well.. Lets just say this 95 year old has a great makeup artist.

Love the video and the music!!

Question: is the stripe ideally at or above the water line? How do you know where to stripe it before the engine install and a test float?

What a resur-wreck-ction! that boat did not present for the faint of heart and look at her now, well done Matt. Do not focus on the first 0′-20’… the 20 foot world is where most of us live unless we have the funds to take up those last 20′. I mean really, the 20′ world is really like the 99% of classic boating I bet. Cheers and can’t wait to see her on the water.

I have to admit that when you started this process I was a little concerned for “B”. Knowing you I should have realized that your OCD would take over and turn her into a read head turner. Nice Job!!!!!

You may have milked a few items, but it has made for a very entertaining winter.

We fly south in just 25 days for an early Dora arrival. See you there!!!!

Spectacular, especially in the sunlight. I’d be happy to set that in my barndominium living room ( if I had one) and just caress it. Just have to wipe it down for drool marks occasionally.
