What The Heck Is Going On With These Darn Vintage Boat Cushions?
If you are into these fun Vintage Boat Cushions like I am, you will see a huge uptick in money being spent on them lately. The one we auctioned off On Torch lake went for $620.00, now we know some of that was for a cause. But it sold on ebay for over $200 a couple months back. And now this one on ebay. OUCH! Now..this new design never seen in my book, it’s unique, and has a gal on it… But I have a feeling that it may have a little to do with one small detail. Lillies! Just saying! HERE IS THE LISTING ON EBAY. ENDS SOON! Those darn home equity loans take time to get. So act now!
If it had a monkey on the back, god only knows what it would go for. All inside jokes for the regular readers. But I watch these darn cushions. And it ain’t me bidding. I stayed out of this one for the sake of Lily. but over all the prices have been creeping up. So if you are into these suckers. buy now before the Picaso ones come out to play. By the way, Owner claims NO MUSTY SMELL. Hell thats worth another $100 bucks!
Lilies float, monkeys do not. Chad BUY IT
GO CHAD GO!
I love the design but I’m not diggin’ the purple sides.
Besides, I have a boat to restore. Fancy accessories will have to wait.
Come to think of it, I have a few red, musty kapok cushions in the barn. It’d be cheaper for me to screen print my own Lily designs.
I’ll print a handful of unique designs and auction them eBay them for $620. That could help fund the resto on the SS.
Mama didn’t raise no fool
Oh wait…she did.
My brother.
Ouch!
I wonder if the prices are going up because someone keeps calling attention to them on his widely read boating blog and thereby increasing demand? In fact, now that I mention it, I seem to remember reading some blog entries on these things that looked like they were written by someone with a background in advertising, someone who might be at the “center of the wooden boat universe” or something like that. Now if I could only remember who or where that might have been. Hmmmm.
P.s. What’s up with the double digit math problems? Good thing my phone has a calculator app!
$355 bucks as of 7 18 pm. DEAR GOD!
Money is no object for The Oracle. Ship it to Omaha!
I think a lot of people are restoring boats from the 60’s. I know I just did, and the pillows were the finishing touch as my originals were shot…but when I went shopping for them…WHAT $75+ You have to be kidding me.
