Woody Boater Dashboard Cookies!

,

1 pm, the cookies go out on the dash.. The little SG head is the logo for our ad agency.. it goes all sorts of places

So I am out all day for a meeting.. and while I am out, the boatress decides that it would be a fun diversion to bake some cookies…on the dashboard of the Woodybotermobile! Yup! It was so hot here ya could cook some delish cookies on the dashboard.. Today is going to be hotter, and of course since we can not leave well enough alone.. I am fearful lunch will cooked on every part of my truck.. A turkey in the trunk, Eggs on the manifolds.. Perhaps a nice pie in the back window.. My truck smelled like a bakery on the drive home..mmmm Woody Cookies!

About an hr later.. mind you this is all happening while i am away. far away!

by 5 pm things were coming together..

Here is Hollie one of our Sr Writers at the end of the day.. Fresh baked Dashboard Cookies..

We used to heat up out sausage parmesan heros wrapped in foil and placed on the manifold. They would be nice and hot when we got to our camping destinations. All things considered though, no cooking on any varnished surfaces, which means nowhere on the new WoodyBoat.

The big Lincoln should offer plenty of grilling surfaces. Just clamp some vice grips on the sea water intake hose and you’ll be cookin in no time!

I was just going to write you guys about Google coookies meesing up my page loading, but these coookies are better?

Throw some of that heat up here – worst summer in many years in BC. Normally hot and dry all summer, cool and unsettled every day so far.

Last week I was frustrated to know that “cookies” were to blame for not being able to load Woody Boater on my computer. Thanks for helping me with that, Paul, Reg & Matt.

Later I talked about Aunt Vera’s cookie jar and now, dashboard cookies. Things are looking up. Were they good?

Good thing you named the new Woodyboat “Suzy” – those could have been your cookies cooking on the dash! HA!

One of the TV news crews did that here in Minneapolis the other day. We never did get to 100 F, but broke a record for dew point.

Suzy needs a copy of Manifold Destiny, complete guide to cooking on your car’s manifolds. First published in 1989, it uses the burned finger method for finding the best surface for cooking. After a lovely day of boating and buying gas, you arrive at the dock and the Lincoln Lincoln Bo Binkin has dinner ready! Voila!

If there are eggs in those slow baked cookies they may be more appropiate for boat construction.

Every respectable cook should have a thermal imaging gun handy for determining when proper cooking temps have been attained. These things are right up there with microwave ovens for technological achievements (saves on the old ‘singed’ fingers).
