Woody Flag Pole’n With Style.

Flag pole 1

I love MERICA!

Nothing is more depressing then going to look for a new flag at either a hardware store, or now Walmart who has wiped out any cool places. My old Walmart flag pole looks like a twisted noodle that just pisses me off every time I looked at it. So the other day on ebay, I noticed a very cool Chris Craft pole. All varnished up and ready to go.

4 American Flags in one shot at Woody Boater HQ, can you spot them all

Flag pole 3

Looks like it might have been part of a cruiser at some point in its life. Well now its reborn on the dock as our new official flag pole. Of course now it needs to be varnished and polished. But isn’t that what its all about. Respect and work. And varnish.. gotta have varnish.

That pole looks GREAT on your pier!

I think the other most frustrating thing is trying to find a US flag made in the USA. Luckily we have a local store for poles and flags. noreastflagpole.com

That is quite a cast or characters in today’s header.

Hey, There’s AWOL Al sitting there in the yellow shirt talking to Mr. Woody Boater. That’s my wife Karen sitting with me. That was a fun afternoon in spite of the pain. This is just before Karen & I had to leave for home in St. Louis. I had surgery one week ago today to fix the weekend spoiling hernia that sent us home. Doing fine now.

Part of the pride of ownership of my old boats comes from knowing they were totally made in the USA by skilled American craftsmen. Those were the days.

And we all know that a boat without a beautiful stern pole and flag flying is like a queen without a crown!

Another beautiful header this morning! Great picture. By the way, what is the green stuff on the ground in the picture showing your flag, the fuzzy stuff on the trees, and the open water? Grass, buds beginning to leaf out, open water?? We just received another 3 inches of snow last night, water frozen still, trees like they were in January. Aahhh, life in the Lake Superior region of far northern Wisconsin! But, I enjoy my coffee every morning in my coffee varnish mug, looking at WoodyBoater before I go out to the shop to get ready to varnish. Have a good day, Howard

Depending on your definition of what represents an American Flag – your count very well not be four but five flags counted in that picture.
There are the four listed by Mike K above – but, there is a “fifth” one if you count the reflection of the flag in the water in that painting. I don’t know what a lawyer would say, but I am guessing that if you are counting a painting of a flag as a “flag” – then you could argue that the painting of the reflection of the flag – which is just as much a representation of the design of the flag, represented on a piece of cloth “is” a flag. So, I think you have a Fifth, and a Fifth is always a good thing.
If you wanted to take this to a CSI level – you can actually make out a reflection of the flag on the chair seen on the shiny varnished floor – making it six flags total.

Great display of US Flags at Woody Boater HQ. Love the new flag pole. Matt’s patriotic dog flies its own flag next to dog bed. Good dog!!!

What I can’t see in the picture is a Sons of Varnish flag. Someone should make a run of those.

I did eat something for breakfast – some new kind of dried mushrooms my son brought home from college.
But, tell me that isn’t an an American Flag on that battleship model on the shelf. Right there midship. You got six or maybe seven flags in that photo. Ok, I am gonna go outside and get some air.
