Woodystock 2013, Chris-Craft Gathering At Lake Dora. Be There Or Be A Very Boring Person Stuck In Omaha!
If you plan on attending this years 2013 Sunnyland show we would love to see you at one of several events. Along with the fun picnics and river cruises that are being organized through the Sunnyland chapter, here at Woody Boater our sponsors are putting together the 3rd annual WoodystockFLA party on Thursday night to thank all the volunteers of the show. This by invite and we need a head count. So if you are going to be there Thursday night we would love to see you and Please email Angie@AntiqueBoat.com Angie is the one person that can get you on the list. But Hurry, this party fills up very fast. I can not get you on he list so don’t think that a comment or email to me will do. Angie is the bottle neck. And while you are at the show, the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club is having a VERY SPECIAL gathering.
Unveiling of the New Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club
The Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club will be holding its first membership meeting in many years. The Club will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary, so there will be cake and refreshments along with plenty of camaraderie. This is a great opportunity for members and potential members to get together and learn the latest about the club.
The meeting will be held under “the big tent” on Friday, March 22, from 3:00-4:30p.m.
Here’s a sneak peak at the agenda:
· Celebrate the 40th Anniversary with cake and refreshments
· Make a number of important announcements
· Watch a presentation of the new Boat Buzz
· Introduce Honorary members
· Hold an open, question-and-answer forum
If you are not a member of the CCABC this is a great way to meet all the folks behind the scenes.
Also if you are into fine-ish art, we will be auctioning off for the ACBS Sunnyland chapter a complete set of the WoodyStock FLA posters at the big Sunnyland dinner gathering. These Posters are NOT mass produced by the way, we usualy make two of each, one for the party as a give away, and the other as a sample. So this is your only chance to get the entire set. they are 24 by 36 size, There will be no give away this year. Own the entire set.
Sorry. Your loss. I will be otherwise occupied, but be assured that Jimi, Janis, Carlos, Crosby, Stills , Nash and maybe Young will be blaring on the stereo.
ps don’t party so hard that you forget to close the drain plug before you hit the launch codes.
Sorry I wont be attending, too poor this year. Maybe I could go to Omaha , wait no that would probably cost more than going to florida.
That’s the last straw. For making fun of my home town, you’re out of the will!
Good luck maintaining your boat without me!
Do we get a t-shirt if we guess Warren’s true WB identity?
I would be there but I so love working that I could just not bring myself to sit in my boat cruising with like-minded people in warm waters when I could be sitting in a small office with 30mph winds outside and 28 degree temps. Bet you’re jealous you’re not me.
The image of a boater being consumed by a large reptile is not all the enticing to me as a boater, although I am sure the large reptiles may find it more attractive.
Those are outstanding posters. Too bad they are not available for purchase. And no, I will not be able to make it to the party…work calls!!!
I will be a first timer, want be bringing my 41 (it’s not finished) but may bring my plastic boat. Look forward to meeting some of you guys and gals…
ja ja, rub it in. During this show I will be lovely places such as Fargo and Bismarck, ND. Wasn’t there a film called “Fargo”? I wonder if my wood chipper is in working order? From Bismarck it will be Billings and Columbus, MT and eventually Boise, ID on Saturday 23 March. Hook up the big woody Thompson and do the trip in reverse. Well, not driving in reverse – wouldn’t that be a hoot. Going up the Rocky Mountains pushing a 22 ft. Thompson cabin cruiser backwards! Heading back to snowy Minnesota with the “new” old boat in tow. I hope you all get sun burnt
Enjoy ND – only thing worse than that drive is SD! Things improve as you get close to Billings though. Eastern Montana is much like ND – boring and brown this time of the year. I’ll be returning from Dora through much of that country a week or so after you, so I shouldn’t make too much fun! Good on you for rescuing that Thomson!

We are a proud sponsor of Woodystock and support the hard work of the Sunnyland volunteers!
Ticket purchased, bags packed and counting down the days until I see my friends and Hagerty clients. Please swing by the booth to say hi and meet Evan and Ben to obtain your latest Hagerty swag!!!!!
Before you head out on the water/road, be sure and give us a call to protect your investment 🙂 Can I “plug” here, Matt!!
LIFE’S A BEACH…
Carla, please tell me Hagerty swag includes a 6 pack of Bells. Pure Michigan, buy local, and all that…
Wow, this is beginning to look like a “Regrets” list from an RSVP, except for Carla’s note!
The entire BOD of the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club will be at WOODYSTOCK 2013 to help with the big “Thank You” to Sunnyland Volunteers, and to promote our Membership Meeting under the Big Tent on Friday at 3:00 PM. Come early to see the 40th Anniversary Cake before our members and guests devour it. As they say, you can’t “have” your cake and eat it too. This one will be eaten. We look forward to seeing all of you (well, most of you) at WOODYSTOCK on Thursday and at our CCABC Meeting on Friday.
Just another “splinter” not going to Lake Dora this year….
Would really LOVE to go so, I’ll officially put it on the bucket list.
I’m in Tavares right now – It’s 85 (25c) and sunny… A nice break from winter!
Will be in Sebring Tuesday / Wednesday to catch the practice & qualifying for the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday.
Did you do Fernindina Beach yesterday? I was thinking of you and hoped you had fun!
We will be there
for the WoodyStock Party, called Angie first thing this morning. i worked all weekend getting the Lyman all pack with needed gear, and now will pack my gear tomorrow, and hitch up at O’ Dark Thirty, Wednesday morning to start heading South.
Oh good Pictures of Lymans!
Yes – On Sunday morning we attended the huge Amelia Island Concours and then in the afternoon went over to check out Fernindina Beach. Glad I did, thanks for the tip…
It was amazing to learn about the rich history of Fernindina Beach and how much of the original buildings, etc still exist. I can only imagine what is was like back in the day. Great find – Thanks again Ranger.
