Headers, headers and more headers, tall headers, wide headers, sunset headers, sunrise headers. Headers of headers and Mr B, all in one. We got us some sort of Headerthon going. Mr B now yips at the word beach and golf cart. So we now cant say Bone, Beach, Chicken, Ball, Beach, Golf Cart, Tara, Jimmy. He goes nuts if I say Jimmy. Okay, back to headers.

On a somber note, I found out this morning that Brian Cuthbertson passed away yesterday. He was well known and respected by the Michigan gang as the guru of our marine engines. We all visited his repair shop near Algonac when we had an engine issue or just wanted to talk to a great guy. He will be greatly missed by our classic boating community. RIP our friend Brian.
Yes, very sad news. Brian was a fixture here in Woodyboaterville as well. We are prepping a story
Brian will be greatly missed, he was very active in the Algonac-Clay Township Historical Society, boaters came to his business for information, advise and help with boating issues. Brian was a storehouse of boating history and he shared it with everyone. I will miss his friendship the most.
So I turned 60 this year and my memory isn’t what it used to be.
Is this Brian and his boat in a Header?
yes it is, I am working on a story now for tomorrow. We also did a Center spread ad with hime for Woody Boater in The Brass Bell
Matt it must give you warm fuzzys to review all the effort you put into these works of art. I know I sure appreciate waking up to a work of art ( and often humor) every day for many years. I’ve forked over money to a lot of organizations this last year and I am embarrassed that Woody Boater is not on that list. It’s time for me to change that a donate some cash to you. Thanks much.
I did not know Brian. He sounds like a great guy! After looking at his picture, I think I may have seen him at Algonac last June. It is always hard to loose good people. RIP Brian, May the engines you touched run forever.

Our friendship goes back to the mid 80’s and you won’t find a nicer guy.
He basically retired from the daily grind of engine analysis and repair, but this only allowed him to spend more time at the Algonac-Clay Township Historical Society which he really enjoyed.
Not only was he a good friend and and stellar mechanic, but he was a GOOD person and I will sure miss him.
RIP my friend.

My wife just reminded me of a Brian special event……It was during the annual Algonac Pickerel Tournament July 4th boat parade a few years ago. Brian was part of the on the water team organizing the boat parade near the Algonac Harbor Club entrance in his Cuthbertson Craft. We were milling around for a long time so I had the opportunity to shut Molly-O off for a few minutes. Yep, you can guess what happened next…………. she wouldn’t restart (starter failure). After Brian gave the other boats direction as to how to proceed he came over and hooked us up to tow us ……………..with a typical Brian comment, and with a twinkle in his eyes, he said “I could just tow you through the parade. Oh come on, it would be fun.” We declined the offer and had him tow us home. Great memory.
Brian was retired from regular business at his shop, but if he knew you he would come in for special requests. This June, just before the Algonac show, the reverse on my Continental MCL was slipping. He met me at the shop, spent 15 minutes adjusting the clutch and we just BS’d for the next half hour. I left there with a solid reverse gear. That is the way I will always remember Brian Cuthbertson!
