Karen Harrison Showed Some Bikers A Good Time In Florida.
With about a week away from Lake Dora fun, this story should be a fun reminder of what the rest of the world is doing. HAVING FUN! And Paul and Karen know how to do that for sure, even breaking down is fun with them. Paul sent us in this great story that happened the other day. Karen BTW, is one of the finest boaters I know. Amazing!!!!
So, Karen has 5 girlfriends down for 5 days. On Friday, while I am on my way to Amelia Island in an estrogen avoidance mission, the 6 of them pile into the Skiff for a day of boating.
Karen takes them up through the lock and into Lake Griffin, where they decide to lunch at an esteemed backwater dive bar called Pirates Oasis (not making this up). LINK TO FACEBOOK HERE. – It’s located in a tiny channel off the lake and it’s very tight. It’s also filled with bikers and bubbas.
They pull into this place and as usual, Karen expertly maneuvers and docks the boat as hordes of bikers watch in befuddled bemusement – evidently they were expecting a different outcome.
They watch as 6 woman disembark the 58 year old vessel and take their seats at the establishment. Much commentary, camaraderie and photography ensues, and shooters are promptly delivered to them.
The gals loved it, the bikers loved it and remarked they’d never seen anything like that happen before.
HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT TO LAKE DORA NEXT WEEK! ALL GOOD AND A STRONG GO,GO,GO.
And as a bonus to the story, Here is an article that seals the deal for me, I AM SO GOING NOW. IT’S PERFECT!
I think I may have just found a new place to try next week!
Thanks for taking us on your great adventure Karen! See you in a few days!
Wow. The RIVA of cheeseburgers. Wasn’t yesterday but today I am envious.
Even when you spell things right it is wrong. Notice the sign is spelled “Pirats Oasis” not Pirates Oasis. The name seems rather fitting with the notice of closure.
It says Pi (RATS) right in the name of the bar.. Enough notice. !! Bikers are tough.
Oh great … a biker bar with roaches and spellings like Matts….sounds like a must go to me.
John in Va.
John you should skip your meeting on Wednesday and get there early. We could make a trip over on Wednesday before the events begin.
“dead roaches” Makes me wonder if the food killed them.
The optimum word for me is multiple, What a place lol
And they have corona beer. It’s perfect
What a good looking boatload of boatresses! Looks like a good time was had by all. Great Story. You have finally figured it out Matt, Corona Beer will ward off the coronavirus.
Remember when Corona Virus meant that you were out of limes?
People who eat at Pirats Oasis are now immune to The corona virus among others, that is, if they survive that meal. Those ladies sure made those biker’s day and mine as well. Wonder if there’s a male version where we could drop in and make some ladies swoon, lol. Yea, In your dreams.
The patrons at the Pirats Oasis were gawking because they had never before seen a boat that wasn’t a 1979 pontoon.
Karen is a pro! Looks like a fun spot for lunch…as if lunch at Copa Cabana everyday wasn’t enough. Enjoy ya’all!
I think I’d pick Lake Harris Hideaway over PiRATS Oasis, just sayin’.
We have tried PiRats Oasis, I will have to make time for it !! Regatta this weekend, Midnight Miss will be here tonight !!
