We got home to Woody Boater HQ last night and today we are catching up with some of the shots from this weekend. Bob Kays and I were running around shooting all sorts of stuff and then reporting as it happened. i missed some of the stuff that told a story. So today we recap some of what you may have missed this weekend if you did not tune in. You can look at the stories from below this story and catch up from the bottom up to relive the drama..
We received this photo yesterday from fellow Woodyboater Jeffrey Budd who just happened to shoot this on SUNDAY at roughly 3:30 PM just 12 hours before the roof caved in. Note the snow build up on the two roof lines. AMAZING!
Just yesterday. No roof line, sign etc.
The little Model 99 still sits down a floor from her original perch. holding up the wall.
Tommy worked his ass off! 630 AM til dark.. Climbing, lifting.. Here he took a 5 minute break.
Back to work.

And the official Woody Boater Boat of the month if not the year. The little Chris Craft Riviera. We are going to do an entire story on her. Needless to say, sitting right there, your looking at about a two hundred thousand dollar boat! And worth every penny!
It sounds like a photo documented book could be in the works to tell this amazing story, Hint!!!

I very happy that most of these boats seem to have gotten by with minimal damage. It’s amazing. Or maybe Karma? Possibly dogma? Definitely not Scapa.

The song “Big Bad John” came to mind when I saw the picture of the Riviera supoprting the roof, with the keel caved in.
Seemingly very high survival rate, have they got to all the boats yet?

I feel like that little Riviera should go in a Katz display AS-IS to show the world what a hero that little boat was. Amazing how that little boat sacrificed itself to protect “Absolut” and the original paint cavalier.
Looks like the Texaco sign and the little 99 held up enough debris to save a lot of stuff. Sure could have been worse.

I bought a 50’s 18′ Riv from Wayne when I visited there 30 yrs ago unrestored with blown Herc (motor removed) and gaud awful yellow upholstery and excellent wood (and its still unrestored). Maybe in a few months – this just in: “another ’18 CC Riviera has been found that was also holding up the marina” (shades of multiple Thayer IV’s).
…and can’t someone please put a support post in to take a little of that load off that poor little model 99?
