Sunday In Woodyboaterville?
When you live the Woody Boater lifestyle, days like Sunday are magical. The weather was more than perfect, it was spiritual. 65 degrees, crisp blue skies, flat water and good friends all worked together like a perfect dance, creating a two hour ride that felt like time had stopped.
We had the good fortune of going out with our long time friends who we don’t normally get to see socially on Sundays. Ya see, my good pal of close to 20 years is a Minister and avid boater. Meet The Good Reverend Woody, or is it Rev Woody?
Rev Woody and Sharon have just moved up here to Northern Virginia from Richmond and we are showing them the wonder of the Potomac River. Its not all bad traffic and politics here.
This was the first Sunday Rev Woody had taken off since August. As we spoke about how perfect the day was, it dawned on me that I was in fact in church. We had it all right there. Nature was providing the perfect cathedral for a truly spiritual moment to reflect on.
Good fellowship with good friends, and time to thank the good lord for providing all of us times like this to remind us of the good that is out there. Life is not just 9 to 5 jobs, bad traffic and what ever happens to be on Fox news or CNN. Life is good, life is full of magical moments like Sunday!
Praise the Lord and pass the can of varnish!
Can we get an “AMEN” here!!
Amen!
AMEN… TIMES 2
BTW…The ACBS is calling for volunteers for the Tavares Show in March! Getting closer! Not that too far in the future!
I’m glad you had a great day of boating with friends and “keep the faith”. Already winterized and stored for a week now in Michigan. Time to start planning next year’s boating activities!
Leaves are gone by up here in Maine. Still some nice bright spots though.
Pulled the last glass boat Sunday, woody’s have been in the barn for a few weeks now. (actually one never got wet, but that is another story)
It was a very nice weekend.
My boats are all stored and no boating until Florida by the looks of it. The closest I got to a lake yesterday was a visit to a still unfrozen and gorgeous Lake Louise in the Alberta Rockies. The only ripple on it was from a muskrat, not even a canoe was out.
very nice photos today. I pulled and winterized all the boats yesterday in the rain. was much easier then last weekend as it was perfect for boating so could not do it. enjoy your extended seasons
Nice article and great pictures. It looks like a little bit of heaven on earth!
PK’s like woodyboating too.
