Daisy Chain Gang Yapdate!

Bob in Deleware? Ohio? Penn? England?

To me THIS right here is all of us at our best, and most insane, which is our best. We can report that the Bob part is in Dover Ohio, home of Ernest “Mooney” Warther master wood carver Carved the Lincoln funeral train among many other things!  to quote Bob himself. The “plan” is for me today to meet Bob in Maryland for the final link to the Daisy Chain Gang winter adventure.

Tucked away for last night. Sleep tight my little Yip, sleep tight.. Today we shall meet again.

Your comments, and emails, have been the most fun part of this all. We are one warm chain of fun across America and the world. I know deep in my clogged heart, that if we had a similar situation in New Zealand, Europe, it would happen.. Wyoming? Don’t know. But we would try like hell. The emotional joy of this little boat, is for sure part of it all, and as always helped me with wonderful stories. I had no idea this could be one of them.

Childhood dreams are made of these moments

This was a spontaneous idea and a wonderful break from all the crap out there. A wonderful reminder that. “Always look for the good, the bad will always find you”.  I think I just wrote that? I googled It to make sure. But dang. I need to move to India, and go hug a tree. DAISY CHAIN GANG ME TO INDIA!  And this of course reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by Abe Lincoln… Before his and Bobs Delaware funeral train thing..  ‘Those who look for the bad in people will surely find it. Oh ya, full circle story!

This was, is, Yip Yaps sister , Ham-a-Lama, another 12 ft Whirlwind. Each son had one. Far far far better than a jet ski. Yip Yap though with her new engine was the fun go to boat, the design more user friendly.

Great woodyboater story made possible by great woodyboater people. It is who we are, narrated for posterity by Matt!

I had relatives that lived outside Dover, OHIO not DE. They gave me a set of Warther knives as a wedding present. Ernest got into the knife making business to facilitate his carving. The museum there of his hand carved, working trains in amazing, and worth a visit to anyone that likes wood!

Cool to see WoodyBoaters pitching in to get an heirloom back to it’s family. This sort of thing happens regularly among racers – mostly parts, but occasionally whole cars.

    Matt,
Others, like myself, who are familiar with Ohio, likely thought perhaps Bob had detoured thru the Columbus area. And the 1st photo still says Bob in Delaware 🙂

WoodyBoater geography has never been much more accurate than WoodyBoater spelling. It’s best to just chalk it up to “artistic license” and roll with it.

BTW, Bob stopped for a boat ride while in Dover, and I have an exclusive photo of the event:

Glad to see this is all working out so well. There’s a little boat at my parents house that I’d love to have out here. Wouldn’t even need a trailer. Anyone…anyone??

Thanks Bob. I think if I can get it from NY to Vegas I can cover the rest of the way. What could possibly go wrong. We won’t talk about what happened last time I was in Vegas. Actually I should probably stay out of Nevada all together so maybe I could meet someone at Stateline.
