Family Fun In The Florida Sun!

A flock of Feather Crafts made quite a splash here yesterday.
One sure sign I am getting revived is that I havn’t been on ebay for an entire week! I am sure you all are thankful as well. Today we started the day by going to the show by boat. Never even got into the car. Now that is an amazing day! Lunch with great pals and just clowning around on the water. The weather is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G… Today is expected to be busy, and Saturday insane. Here is just a taste of the fun!

Love the young Turner captain at the helm. What a man!
Have fun.
Looks like a lot of fun as always, but I am glad I stayed home this year. Wouldn’t have wanted to miss the blizzard we are getting this evening!
We have Dairy Queens here, you can get your Blizzards there? THen go to the Palm Gardens!
Love it Matt!!!! That’s what makes it all worth it right there.
I wish I was there, but I have a shop full of race cars that aren’t going to build themselves. 😒
YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Miss you all!
Speaking of not getting in a car. For many years I have taken the week of the 4th of July off for a “Staycation”. My goal in those weeks is to never get in a car. Here on the coast of Maine I can even go grocery shopping by boat.
Troy and Sandi we miss you too! Except it’s all a farce because the ABC is sold out of Makers 46 which means you must actually be here.
I am hording it ALL!
Shannon, if Makers 46 is out, give Knob Creek Single Barrel a try. It’s 120 proof, but smoother than the 46. Lots of caramel taste with a really nice finish. If not the Knob Creek, Four Roses Small Batch is a good alternative.
Great to see the young man at the helm of the Aristocraft. One of my favorite boat brands. Looking forward to the Correct Craft story, as that’s another of my faves.
Matt: Looked for you under your tent yesterday…Now know why you weren’t threre…Meanwhile I was over picking up all the bargains at the SCAMPI tent.. Great cocktail party at the pavillion last night…Sunset from their second floor was incredible. Look for you today.
Looking forward to the story about the Tommy Bartlett boat. Midwesterners -at least those in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois- that the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show has been a fixture, if not the anchor, of the Wisconsin Dells (our Orlando) for decades. I grew up a few miles away from there in Baraboo, itself a “show town” as it was the birthplace and three-decade home of the Ringling Brothers Circus. There was always a Florida connection with the Bartlett show, as there would be cadre of Florida water skiers who’d summer in the Dells to perform with Tommy’s show. I MIGHT have dated one of the fairer ones one summer long ago… wink wink. there was something nice about dating a girl who worked in a bikini. The Bartlett show rivaled the Cypress Gardens show and still is a major attraction. Of course, Correct Craft was the other Florida connection. Tommy himself could often be seen tooling around in his Amphicar.
While you were attending the show the staff would swarm the parking lot and stick a big, loud Tommy Bartlett sticker on your bumper whether you wanted one or not. Since Wisconsin Dells was such a draw for Chicago people, I often speculated that a quarter of the cars in that city had a Tommy Bartlett sticker on their bumper. Especially since, like those ugly stickers car dealers stick on your car, most people never bother to remove them.
Bring on the complete story, Matt.
Wait. How does one break a prop shaft???
I can’t wait till my Torpedo 16 is finished. I’m so looking forward to tearing up the Delaware river like I did back in the 60’s. Also looking forward to going to some classic boating events.
Nothing quite like a Florida sunset!
Love those twin evenrudes
