Florida HQ IS Officialy Open For Business!
Reporting in from our Florida HQ, fellow Woody Boaters Paul and Karen Harrison report in from the shores of Lake Dora. They will be there until the big show and reporting in. The header today is a reminder that the sun is still shining and Woody Boating is alive and well. Of course all Paul has to report is that they have not broken down and they bought a antique blender. To be specific, It was a 1930’s – 40’s GE Bee Hive mixer for $30. Thing has three beaters and works great.
Wow Paul we are all with you. Kinda.. In a we are in 20 degree weather and you are not kinda way!
Ooooo pancakes! Someone bring the bacon!
What kinda bacon? I like bacon…
$1000 is a whole lot less than the replacement transom cost.
I’ll have hickory smoked thick cut bacon.
What a GREAT looking Sea Skiff!
Paul are you and Karen doing either of the St. Johns cruises?
By the way Matt it’s only 3 degrees here this morning so 20 would feel like a heat wave.
It is 3 degrees here as well. Tobler thinks that is about perfect but it is a bit chilly for my tastes.
The object Paul purchased is a mixer. A Blender is a thing you use to mix rum with ice and fruit.
I’d bring the bacon to whatever party they are hosting but I need to stay here and earn a living. Clearly the result of poor choices made in my youth.
M Fine, I bought you some chocolate bacon or some bacon chocolate and you aren’t coming to FL?
I got the rum. Not good enough to sip but mighty good in a punch when the seas are too rough to head out.
Definitely not this month. Not likely in February. Maybe in March.
Okay, I convinced my wife to schedule our Vacation during the show in Mt. Dora. But I have one question: How many Bacon vendors will you have there?
Our biggest issue today is pigeon guano – several are roosting in the boathouse and have defiled the estimable Skiff. So, we will deal with the ornithological scourge using non-lethal means, scrub the boat and hit the water. No more flea markets, antique fairs or Trumpy transoms this weekend! Perhaps “dine” at Palm Gardens?
Thanks M-Fine! I knew the difference because I have a couple of vintage blenders as well, including one I bought at the Sunny land Boat Show flea market of all places.
I haven’t made it to the show in four or five years, but I booked a flight for this year. Paul, got any room on your couch?
I have no doubt you a Karen know the difference. I assumed it was Matt who called it a blender.
Nice looking antique “Mixer” (Not blender Matt).
Lake Dora looks inviting in the background. If you buy that place you will need to enclose that boat port, make it a boat “house” to keep the pigeons from using Kabbott’s Habbot as an out house. Get a pellet gun! I hear pigeon breasts are tasty.
Mighty fine dock and boat enclosure.
You might try a little chicken wire on the underside of the roof to control your bird issue.
A staple gun and two sets of hands should do the trick.
Hanging a fake OWL or 2 will also help pigeons don’t much like owls.
Or you can use the mixer to make rum ice cream and just not worry about.
This is a blender, duh.
This is a mixer. Might have to enlarge your counter tops tho.
