Florida Update From Paul And Karen.

The Palm gardens, Ya go through the canal, then across the lake, then take a left into a small creek like thing, and there it is. watch out for the gators..
Today is the first day of spring for the rest of us, but for Florida Reporters Paul and Karen Harrison its SUMMER. So they ventured out into town to see what was going on.. For those of you new to the Lake Dora thing, these are the usual spots we all hang out at. Looks a little sad with out pals sitting around. Just 8 Days. Actual we are planning on a Monday or Tuesday arrival. So for us it will be sooner. For the show though, the magic happens on Friday the 28th.

The vintage steam train takes you from Tavares to Mount Dora.. Fun trip and connects the two towns on one lake.

O’Keefs, where you can walk in alone and be with other Woody Boaters. Great burgers, large steak fries and drinks. Right across from the park.
I have had enough talk about going south, so today I’m going south of Cleveland……Youngstown! I think that is an adult tricycle, can you get streamers on the handlebars? Congratulations on the award Matt, I think if you put some posters in woodyboater store on a limited run they would sell like T-shirts! Great job!
Watch out for the “free” dessert at Palm Garden!
Slowly getting there. Made it to Louisville last night. Still 37 this morning. Hope to cross the Fl line tonight.
That…thing…at the end is pure Florida. Makes you wonder what that guys pontoon boat looks like. You know he has one.
I’ll tell you what that guy’s pontoon looks like. Just like the bike.
Safe travels Jim Staib! Hope to see you down in Tavares or possibly on the cruise. I’m working on my travel plans.
Made it to Lake City, Florida. Be at Astor for lunch tomorrow.
Al Benton is in Pensacola today, will be in Apalachicola at their boating museum on Saturday and on Sunday the two of us head to Sanford to begin the river cruise that will eventually take us to Tavares…..To Tavares, Tavares, jigety jog
Actually in Perdido Key just south of Pensacola. Saturday I’ll meet up with Wilson and Pat at the museum in Apalachacola. From there we’ll stop in Carrabelle, then off to Sanford where we catch a bus to the north end of the St. John River Cruise. We will be in Tavares Thursday PM.
Looking forward to seeing y’all there.
Gee Jim…didn’t think you’d leave so early…I was going to call you today with a question..
Thanks for the photos Paul and Karen.
I feel badly for people who can’t make it; especially this year, given the ridiculous winter.
Without Mayer there, who will open my beers? And who will be by cellmate?
You will need to resort to twist-offs or cans. Sorry to let you down
Aside from Alex & his beer problems, we’ll miss you!
I bet Troy knows a woman or two who can open a beer in creative ways.
Just looked at the weather forecast for early next week and it looks like the South Bound cruisers will be wearing rain gear. Best thing about rain is you DON’T have to shovel it!
T minus 24 hours until the plane departs.
That’s usually the case! But hey, it’s all still fun.
How could our intrepid reporters forget the Copa Cabana??
SHHHHHHHH! Thats secret..
Thanks Paul and Karen for the teasers!
See you in Palatka Monday.
m-fine and Alex – Here is that trike-biker’s next project.
Might not be ready in 8 days…
Must be a prototype since it has a marine engine, and a small one at that.
Trike-biker’s brother and his wife/sister are on their way though !!
One week from now I’ll be landing in Orlando, unless I mysteriously disappear over the Indian Ocean.
FWIW, currently snowing here in Rochester where the first day of Spring usually looks more like yet another day of winter.
Maybe you should move to Florida and participate in year round boating?
I don’t want my kids to become trike and pontoon owners when they grow up.
