I have been cleaning up the Drillville area of the wood shop. I am now starting to really put together collections of stuff.
Believe it or not, there are other shows happening around the country still. Buffalo this weekend, and the Reedville Show. Now, the Buffalo show is a great show, and the Reedville Show is a small intimate casual event for sure. The Reedville show has a huge variety of boats from the Chesapeake Bay, and one cool part of the show is the entire town is part of the show. Many folks loan out their docks in the back of some amazing 1900’s homes. Including myself and the Reedville Marine Railway, AKA WoodyBoater Global HQ.
Thats a Horizontal Tire Drill. I have no idea what it does, but found it on the big pick a couple weeks ago
Tire Drill?
The Wall Post Drill all ready to go…and future dust collector
Frozen in time
All drill related stuff is in this corner. ALL replaced by a DEWALT battery powered drill.

Danny came by and deliverd LAURA for the railway. AMAZING history
ZIP and Yip Yap will be inda HOOOUSE. The stretcher will have there history on it. Seems fitting
George and Becky came by to set some crab pots and..well. MR B decided he wanted to go with them. He is quite the socializer, and note… Goes to the women…Just say’n
And of course there will be rides. I hope. The water on the bay has been fantastic. THERE, I JUST JINXED IT!
See that little dot on the Horizon, thats the Lighthouse for sale everyone is talking about on Social Media
As to places to stay. There are some bed and breakfast places and of course VRBO and Air B&B and one hotel. The Bay Motel. But to be honest the show starts petering out around 3 ish. I will be like a groom, at a wedding reception. So it will be tough to be social. Or easy if I get out on a boat. There is around 40 boats expected, old cars, and the new Bar will be operating. I hope. Here are some images from the past week, trying to get the place kinda cleaned up. It’s been a VERY wet summer and things are kinda squishy and lots of weeds. UGH.
John Rothert Wayne Bomb and Knot that Jeff Gordon
Mid day at HQ
More boats at the Museum
The Reedville Fishermans Museum
John Rothert again, actually John is the only person that shows up and I just follow him around
Lots a cool work boats
The FD Crockett will be at the Railway
The Elva C will be giving rides..I think.
HERE are some images from previous years to get an idea of the show. I think there is still room at the show, and if you want to sign up. HERE is the link.
Looks like a blast to me! Perhaps someday I can make that happen. Have a good time!
The place looks great and is a wonderful venue for a boat show/boaters party. I wish you good weather and flat water!
Nice to see George and Becky. We really enjoyed their visit in Algonac a couple years ago.
Count me IN! Hope for nice weather…we have had fall like mornings this week…maybe I too just Jinksed it? Great show.
Since you started this event is there a noticeable increase in public interest as well as exhibitors???
My husband said that “tire drill” looks like a large, bench-mounted press – for pressing gears off of shafts.
No time for a rabbit hole, but found this on a brief Google. This answer was actually to a question about a post drill, like the other one you have, but may provide some clues. Key for me was realizing they were talking about metal “tires”, fitted to wagon wheels long ago.
Would this be a good time to remind people of the big show on Lake Minnetonka this Saturday and International week leading up to Woods & Water II at Bar Harbor? Or has someone already done that?
I DO want to make Reedville sometime in the near future, just so I can feast my eyes on every inch of goodness in the Railway.
Had planned to bring a boat to the show this year. Really enjoyed Having it at the railway in water at dock. Was told this year again that there was no room for me at the Railway where it was last year. So Looks like I’ll be a no show this year. Really love what you have done with the Railway Matt. Thanks for everything you do. Can I request a spot at the show in 2025? will have a 12′ 1952 Whirlwind Junior, cut down version factory racer ( Little Speedy) finished and would like to have it at your site for a few days. Thanks Don. Have a great time.

You just never know what you’re going to learn on Woodyboater. I just learned a great way to organize my screwdrivers.
