Hello San Diego! The Boatress Says I Can’t Do it. I Said I Can, She Said No.. I Said Yes I Can Find You A Ride This Weekend!
Last night right before the boatress heads out to San Diego for the week today I asked her if she wanted to go for a boat ride on Sunday when she is there. She laughed at me.. She said, oh ya, how are you gonna arrange that Mr Woody Boater! I was challenged…Here was my insane plan.. I do a shout out to our fellow Woody Boaters out near San Diego. Then a background check, and recommendation from other fellow Woody Boaters that you wont make a coat out of her and her niece.. Trust me, there isn’t enough for a coat there.. .. So it gets a little complex..but it was a cool idea… and she wanted to go to the Zoo instead..But she was still taunting me!
But it got me to think’n... We say, hey I want to go visit Lake Whatcyhamacallit , and I wonder who else is there? A place on Woody Boater to connect? To be honest, I am not a huge fan of going out on unknown water without another fool out there. Is there a way on WB.. here to just connect.. I am gonna be in XX lake, anyone want to go boating? Like a forum thing just for connections.. A place for fellow Woody boaters to not feel alone, and to take advantage of when they are in a new town on business to go Woody boating during some down time. Any ideas? maybe the boatress wasn’t crazy, maybe it was the catalyst for something bigger?
Just like Ok Cupid, only…. weird? Ok Woody Boater?
I like the idea. Even if another woody boater cannot meet you on Lake XX, they might be able to give advice on where to launch, lunch and leisure. Kind of a Who’s Who and Where’s Where of Woody Boating. Longtime WoodyBoater readers will know who to contact in certain high-profile areas, such as Hessel, but other destinations will need their regulars to step into the light and offer their friendship and assistance.
I always thought that was a natural.
The “Wicked Wahine” is ready to go!
Great idea, like a spreadsheet by state with lakes/river/ocean locations and recommended launch ramps. restaurants and contacts for locals with emergency breakdown contacts for Paul Harrison.
Kool! Finally a picture of a Riva in the WB header…..and its not even wood! Who’d a thunk?
Love the flying lapstrake. Oh and an interesting idea.
so what happened;
Wicked Wahine is so sexy. I am feverishly trying to finish her Lyman boyfriend ‘Sneaky Tiki’.
If you are really going here you might as well use this clip.
Very cool song in the background by the way.
i’ve seen the header boat before, what kind is it. it is beautiful.
“It puts the lotion in the basket.”
Better yet, it puts the gas money in the basket.
Oh? It’s mom is a real important person?
It places the funds for total restoration in the basket.
‘thomas dial’ – it is a South Coast 18′, virtually identical to the 56-57′ 18′ Lyman Runabout.
Att: Thomas
The header boat pictured is an 18′ South Coast built
in 1956 in Newport Beach Ca . Disassembled
& stored in a garage in Corona Del Mar for 45 years, it took four years to bring her back to bristol condition.
great idea would love and plan to take my woody to other states . connecting with someone would be great and be a good excuse for a cruise or lunch and a couple of beers
gonna start lookin’ for one.
