It’s Clayton Time! Did You Wash Your Boat Down With Salad Dressing?
It’s Friday! In case you forgot, and you know what that means… It’s time to enjoy a little Clayton action, and a big Clayton Auction. If you are on the Antique Boat America email list you have been getting one or two emails a day taunting you with some mahogany temptations. Sins of the varnish… Wait, I see another t shirt line there! This years auction is loaded with some very sweet tender curvacious fared hulls for sure. Hackers, Lymans and a bunch of stuff that is so rare that I secretly have no idea what they are, except that they are cool as heck…
The special thing about Clayton is that the place is littered with cool rare boats just hanging out being used as daily boats. And, best of all, when its time to rest.. mmmmmm thats right.. A nice big salad with thousand Island dressing. Hey, it’s not just for interiors anymore.. mmm, a nice varnish wash with your Vinegar and water dressing and then a nice rub down with Thousand Island Dressing on your interior.. It’s got something to do with the Mayo I think.. See the Mayo is an oil, the ketchup is red stain that helps fill in the scratches in your red interior, the lemon zest just perks it all up and helps with the UV protection.. Really! The only down side, is that when it gets real hot out it has a tendency to mold up.. But, that’s OK, cause you can just wash it off with… Jesus, are you actually believing this crap.. It’s Friday, and its summer. That’s all I need to have some fun this weekend! Next weekend we will talk about how Riva uses Grey Poupon on their leather interiors. Really!
I was planning on a telephone bid up to Clayton but instead blew my bankroll in the new WoodyStore.
You know you take your condiments seriously when Mayo is considered worthy of capitalization.
I am going to have to agree with Rick. The boat selection looks great, but my money is going to the woodyboater store.
But how will the SOV shirts look with your new dreadlocks? While they grow in maybe Matt can special order a Captains Cap with dreadlocks sewn on? Captain Ganga mon.
Thinking of selling my boat, buying up a few cases of merchandise, sitting on them for 4 years, selling them at a HUGE profit in the secondary market and then buying a bigger boat.
PS. – Will there be any new varnish stained orange Docksiders with ventilated soles for sale? New torn and stained denim jeans are a hit, who knows.
If the market for stained cloths is on the up tick, I am retireing.. Look for stuff under varnish stained shoes, shirts on eBay
Love the Woody store! Nice being able to to see the progression of designs in the archive too. Way cool!
Hey Matt
The annual antique boat show and auction is excellent but don’t forget about the antique race boat regatta. Coming soon to my favorite river!
