Live-ish From Hessel – Mmmm Hessel……

,

If Homer Simpson was a WoodyBoater he would probably say… Mmmm Hessel…

This boat show has a reputation as being one of the premier summer shows in the country. And thanks to Fellow WoodyBoater Chad Durren, we all get a sneak peak of Lake Huron, the Les Cheneaux Islands and the surrounding area, Live-ish from Thursday.

Officially named The 33rd Annual Les Cheneaux Islands Antique Wooden Boat Show, the event is located in Hessel, Michigan, on Michigan’s eastern Upper Peninsula. The boat show is sponsored by the Les Cheneaux Historical Association in cooperation with Mertaugh Boat Works, the Hessel Harbor Association and the Hessel Marina. The Historical Association uses the proceeds from this event, along with other contributions, to maintain and enhance the Historical Museum and the Maritime Museum, which are located in nearby Cedarville, Michigan.

Elegant and Timeless Cruiser

The name on the boat in the boat house below is “Plain Jane” Ha!
Excuse Me Sir, I’m Lost – Is this the Club House for the Golf Course or the Hotel?

More friendly WoodyBoaters spending time on the water in mid-August.

I’ll take the one in the middle please…

Not sure if this is a Lyman or a Chris-Craft Sea Skiff but maybe someone out there can tell us.

A Barn Find Boat House… Imagine trying to sneak out for an early morning boat ride without waking up the wife? or sneaking home late at night without waking up the wife?

Total Seclusion…

It looks like everyone had a great day on the water in Hessel… Thanks Chad!

Wish I was there… Hmmm…

Let’s see – If I get on my Harley-Davidson right now and head east….

My parents vacation in Cedarville. I would like to find a wood, laser art framed image of the Les Cheneaux Islands to give as a gift to my father for Christmas. Any suggestions? I’ve already contacted Katydids.
