Live-ish From Lake Dora Vintage Boat Races!
This might be a tad confusing. There is still a countdown. The official Classic Boat Show is on Frday, but today we are Live-ish from Lake Dora. Karen Harrison reported in with some amazing photos of the The Classic Race Boat Association Races going on. Now, there are no real stories behind or in front of the pictures so its going to be all told in pictures. Hey, you get what you pay for! Go smear some gas on the key board and sit behind a running car while you read this. That should complete the image.. Thanks to Karen for at least letting us know that there is hope that summer is almost here.

Apparently everyone was just hanging around… Get it.. Hanging, lifting… Hey you make this stuff up every day!

Ok, now we are getting someplace. Gentleman start your engines. Or just engine if you just have one.
Thanks to Karen who also caught the take off of 1000 hp.. Dear god!

Bring on the Jersey Skiffs. For those of you that are wondering what a Jersey Skiff is. Lets just say ya aint going fishing in it. Imagine a row boat with a Corvette engine in it.
The guys from the Classic Race Boat Association are a fantastic group of folks that bring there A game at each event. This show makes the trip to Florida that much better.
Great shots….
Al Benton and I leave in a few minutes from Carrabelle, Fl for Sanford and Southbound River cruise …See y’all there.
Made it to Jax yesterday. 100 miles of beautiful boating so far.
mm it smells like a warm summer day, ahh crap i got to shovel the driveway
Let’s see, bitter cold, a fresh layer of snow, cloudy with more snow falling. Yep, Spring is here!
Hope I make it to Thursday.
I really want to try a Jersey Skiff one of these days! If anyone can help me out with that just let me know.
We are currently having lunch at JFK waiting to board our second leg to Orlando, then on to Dora. Will try to report something Liveish later.
I love those Jersey Skiffs!
The gmc is the jimmy mobile we are using Jimmy’s Yukon til we find the right deal. And yes it’s packed to the gills with goodies for all.
Was there. A great event, 50 plus boats, lots of noise and a great group of people having fun. Come back to Tavares next November or the weekend before the Sunnyland Boat Festival in March 2015 for the Classic Raceboat Associations next events
How much was that one pictured boat for sale for? The one with the exposed frames?
