Not So Gasp! It’s Still Woody Boating Weather.

Lynn and the Boatress trying to keep dry-ish
Mother of all Natures, man oh man did she deliver big time in Virginia yesterday. All my travels around the planet, and here right at home in little Reedville VA, we got eh day of days. Wecatchem ran like a sewing machine. A big block sewing machine.

Along the River there are lots of smaller Creeks to enjoy a ride

Back on the smooth part of the river near the top

And now on the big part of the river near the mouth. Woohooo! Thankyou Faribault Woolen Mills!

Zipping along doing my hang off the bow shot

Parked at Jimmys. Three forms of wood.

Back out enjoying the day

Meeting Clif Aimes for lunch at Cockrells Seafood.

Clif’s 17″ Sportsman is a fun boat. We just found out this used to be Bob Rices boat back in the day. Small world!

More cruising and lusting after boathouses
The water flat in the morning, air 80 with a crisp dry feel. And the best part is that the sun is low all day, and creates this feeling of a late afternoon sunset cruise. Its truly magic on a Woody Boat. If you can share that with people, its a real eye opener. But people don’t understand that September and October are the best boat of all year.

Crisp Air!

The Boatress enjoying the ride

The clock works like a charm
The leaves are starting to change here, and made for a very special Friday off. Not to mention, the day ended with a beautiful full moon!

Learning some new tricks with the camera!
The weather today is expected to drop to mid 60’s. Here in Virginia thats chilly BTW. So if you can, get out there, and get some gasping in. Lets see how long we can go!
Matt the reflection in the varnish is great! Shiny varnish and bright chrome. It is really pretty. Did you use a SLR camera?
If you did have you tried shooting any video with it? We were going to try this year but never got a chance.
Its a Nikon 7200 and about to try the video thing.
Days like that is what carries you through the winter months. Great pics and a nice way to start my day before work.
I cant wait to hear the sound of the old flat head on Woody Boater TV. Be sure to pass on any tips.
If you ship me some crabs, I’ll send back some bacon.
If I knew how to ship crabs I would be happy to. Its Oyster time here now. Crabs are so last summer!
Looks like a great day and good way to end the season. We are not so lucky here in Northern Michigan as the cursed white stuff is coming down. Can’t complain too much, however, as we had great weather all summer and into the fall.
truly was a fine day on V A ! Went cruisn too…would send pic if I knew how to take any…..
John in Va.
Perfect day, perfect boat, nice blanket.
No boating here but had a dozen raw oysters at the annual Apalachicola SeaFood Festival nd the moon was spectacular.
Like John, I would attach photo if I could find the file where it resides on my computer
Sweet!
Pulled the last boat out today. But wait these flowers are blooming in November in Maine? Are you sure this is not May? Maybe we should be putting the boats in?
These too. Crazy!
We had our last gasp in Watch Hill yesterday. Still sorting out Little Susie after a two year nightmare engine rebuild. Finally running great, Mt. Dora hear we come!
