One Last Gasp Of Fun From Algonac!

The Teddy Bears say it all here on Miss America X

Sunday is the big day for us here at Woody Boater, I have been asked to speak at the Annual brunch at The Old Club on Harsons Island. Dang! looks like a large crowd and jeez, what in the heck am I going to talk about. I suppose like every morning, I will come up with something right before the event. It’s not like I have not agonized over this. I have for sure. Texx and I will be hauling over in Pete Beauregard’s latest find. This very unique 21 Cobra all in Blue! It’s fantastic in person and very unique.

Its the only one like this and has a fantastic history!

Its also a rocket.. Blue flames I suppose will launch from the tail pipes!

Along the way we hope to gather some more great snap shots of the gang all headed up to the club.. In the mean time we want to do a call out to some special Woody Boaters that lit up our day!

Rick Gambino and his very sweet 17 ft Sportsman taking Panther to the docks! Very very sweet boat, the Katz's Marina Finish is as usual .. stunning!

Fellow Woody Boater Greg Lewandowski and his very nice runabout has been an amazing host. Right back at ya Greg!

Mr Century Tommy Holms And I having a good belly whacker. This guy is a hoot!

Jerome Emery and his very cool Connie Express, it started it's life as a 1958 Connie.. And in the same shot pat and Sheila Chaps in Moxie a Express cruiser. Pat and Sheila were my hosts two years ago and make folks feel so welcome that you think you are at home! this was a cool shot showing the subtile differences of the two boats. note the winsheild in wood on the connie and how its pushed aft.. And the flag pole.. Very very cool way to make an old Connie cool!

Probably have to listen to him brag about that darn Whaler! But seriously, thanks for coming and sharing our show with the rest of the free world. You guys are welcome back anytime!

No pressure Matt but I don’t want to have to sit in the car for the 14 hour trip home with my wife saying “Why did we go to hear him?” Only kidding its been a great weekend. Heading down to the marina in about an hour.

Matt was practicing his speech to a flock of sea gulls this morning at sunrise, and they flew away!

So we made some last minute edits while watching the 3 Stooges on the satellite TV on the Sea Ray…

We added a few “Nnuk Nnuk’s” and it worked…

“And I ran, I ran so far away.

I just ran, I ran all night and day.

        I couldn’t get away.”

Did Matt do the funky early eighties mega comb over hair style to go with the speach?

It is OK for Matt to talk about the Whaler, it is such a classic! And it even won an award!

We had a great time yesterday. What an incredible collection of great boats. And great people! Unfortunately, we left mid-afternoon to head for Ditchburn and Greavette country, so we missed meeting Texx. Hope you are planning on taking video of the speach and posting it.

    Matt. No problem.

After listening to this epic display of a single man’s courage, no speech you give today, or ever, should be daunting.

Hey, is this the first ever reference to King George IV in WoodyBoater? History has been made.

Listened to Laural and Hardy I mean Matt and Texx this morning at the club followed by Chris Smith. Can it get any better? Yes it can I returned on one of the 3 remaining triple Petersbouros left in existence! MUCH THANKS Alex, and this was after Todd gave us a ride to the club in his 42′ Commander. THANK YOU Todd. Running back Greg was next to us all the way in his perfect Deluxe. Susan, Ann, Roy and everyone else thank you. Could not get out of MI though. South of Algonac was a parade and they tried to detour me onto a dirt road. I DON”T THINK SO! Found a paved road to 94 only to have 75 south closed. Didn’t read a detour right and ended up pulling Panther through the Detroit streets. Finally got back on track and am finally crashing somewhere in central PA. Will thank more people tomorrow when the brain is working again. Time for wine and sleep.

And riding over to The Old Club this morning on Todd’s Commander was fantastic… Thanks Todd.

    Thanks Rick and travel safe!
