Planning On Meeting Us In Ohio For the Big Woody Boater Live Event? We Need A Rough Head Count!
Are you planning on making the trek up, over or down to Ohio on Jan 19th for the Woody Boater Live Antique Boat Center Open House? There is a small party being planned for Friday night, and the good folks at The Antique Boat Center want to get a rough head count so everyone gets a pig and a blanket. It’s no fun when there are not enough pigs and to many blankets. Not to mention more shrimp than cocktails. It’s always preferred that there are more cocktails than shrimp, unless they are cocktails that are shrimpy, not to be confused with just plane shrimp cocktails, which are not small cocktails but shrimp in a cocktail glass. Confused? just imagine trying to order for a crowd you have no idea how big or small it’s going to be. I told them to expect me. So that’s one. I have been told that the Drury Inn is the nicest hotel in the area, so that is most likely were we are going to stay, I went online and found a 105 a night rate. I called them and asked for a group discount, but had no idea how many rooms to get, and the discount was about 10 bucks. Maybe if we know how many are coming soon enough we can save a few bucks for ourselves. Mmmmmmm Instant Waffles and eggs from a mix..Anyway, if you are even thinking that you may want to come and throw things at me, let us know here by commenting or emailing angie@antiqueboat.com or calling the Antique Boat Center at 513 242 0808 that way you will be assured enough crackers for your cheese cubes. You can click here for directions
I work until 2pm that day and am probably about 10 hours away. When I arrive will there be any shrimp left or will I find Matt asleep in a pile of wood shavings with a monkey? Probably be too late for the party and too early for the instant waffles.
Matt, I swear you are a mind reader. i woke up in the middle of the nite and remimbered Ineeded to make hotel reservations for the Chicago and Milwuakee boat show, AND the ABC event. I wrote a note on my night stand so i would not forget. And BAM, You got all the hotel details spelled out for me already, you the man…
Oh, are you attending? I was going down to pick up my new boat… But if you’r there, I may sit in a little to hear you babble on…
Just Kidding pal, This event was on my bucket list ever since I heard you were going to be the main feature!!! Never past up an opportunity to meet up with you and chat like we have in the past.
The added event of me hitchin up my new boat and hauling her home afterward is just the icing on the cake.
Now if I can close this deal today, I will breath a little easier. Just waiting on my counter offer.
that last sentance should read, : waiting for my last counter offer to be accepted…”
Well, I have a rough head, have already heard you babble live, and my shoulder hurts from sanding, so do not count on my head being there.
Can we make this an annual event ? I’ll still be in quarentine from transplant in 2013 , but there’s always next time!
I plan on being there to continue the learning experience that I started at the Old Club last June. It’s a long drive, but I know I need to know a lot more about zippers. Let me know when you confirm the Drury Inn as the Friday night hot spot, and I will make my reservation.
Matt,
Do you have a rough outline of the events that will take place over the weekend of the 19th of course culminating with your presentation!!
Party at Lou’s?? I’ll be there.
Just drove from Chicago to Rochester, NY in the blizzard. Hope the weather is better because there were about 200 cars in the ditch in Ohio alone.
I will be there on Saturday, I live 30 minutes away and probably will not be able to make the Friday night partay. Will there be Sons of Varnish gear available?
Not sure on the sons of stuff. I will see if my store folks can send me stuff.
We will not be able to make it to the ABC Open House, but wife Anne strongly suggests visiting Blue Ash Chili for lunch or dinner. Killer Cincinnati-style chili and diner food featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Also, it was over lunch at Blue Ash, that the decision to purchase the 1949 Greavette at ABC was made (Thanks to Matt at ABC!) Blue Ash is about three miles from ABC, and easy to find. Have a great time at the Open House!
