Reedville Virginia. Woody Boater Headquarters.

72 degrees, puffy clouds and no jet ski’s on the water. What could be better. Looks like the price of gas has killed off the annoying 13 year old’s and there 50 mph jet ski’s … This gave me a great opportunity to let you see what a beautiful town Reedville VA is by water. Reedville is located on the Northern Neck of VA down near the mouth of the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers. Actually Reedville is on the Great Wicomico on the Chesapeake Bay. It is a magical paradise of early 1900’s homes all on the water. It was developed mostly by New Englanders after the Civil war and quickly became the fishing center on the bay. During its heyday was considered one of the richest towns in the U.S… Per capita that is. It’s a very small town with stunning homes along its Main Street on a point. The homes a reasonably priced and very little development has happened, thus preserving its strong sense of community. Reedville is also home to the Reedville Fisherman’s Museum one of the main social gathering centers of the area. What’s kept this small paradise so preserved. It must be something in the air.
