Is that the biggest cris craft show per square feet of boats?
Yep!
2600 feet of boats on the docks
I hear cruisers are like heroine. One little sample and next thing you know it controls your life. Best to keep your distance I think.
When arthritis becomes part of your boating, you will find its easier crawling aroud a cruiser to fix a part than a runabout
The dream is to get a big Commander and put my little Sportsman on the on the foredeck. Then Cruise show to show along the Great Loop. Love those big boys. But I also remember as a kid the maintenance on the bottoms when I worked in a boat yard during the summers. Maybe a glass Commander. Wish this show was closer.
You got me drooling. I have a good appreciation for what it takes to own and maintain a classic cruiser. My hat’s off to all of the captains that are at that fantastic show this weekend. We will be toasting them in St. Clair!
yes, I too wish this was closer….Crusier shows are rare indeed….almost as rare as cruiser nuts.
John in Va
Hey John, Come on over. In the Puget Sound there are cruiser shows every weekend from now to Labor Day. So many that the smell of dry rot permeates all coastal towns
Funny!
It would be very cool to have one of these cruiser shows on the east coast someplace. It would also help the market for these cruisers. When you see others out there in the water being used you are reminded that they are great boats. the math adds up. We were on a 1.6 million Sea Ray in Michigan. For 150K you can be on a stunning classic cruiser with twice the character. And room.. All that is needed is exposure to these fantastic yachts
Matt, you are wrong….150K?
For that much money you can 4 or 5 Classic Chris’s
Matt, didn’t mean to say you were wrong , just wanted to emphasize that there is a good inventory of classic cruisers in Puget Sound area…at extremely good prices.
So Doug –
How was that thunder & lightning show for you this morning? Are the bilges dried out yet? In the islands we got an inch in 20 minutes @3AM…
Yeah, Woke me up and went outside…It’s a fanatastic light show
this show is just a couple hours from me. But I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it AGAIN this year. One day I will make this show, and, one day, I will own one of these bug beauties. Sooner if I get the “boot” from the wifey for bringing home more stray cars. Boats she’s ok with……cars, not so much……..
Tyson, Don’t know where you are, but the middle of August there is a METAL, (pardon me guys) Boat Show at Anacortes…one of the most beautiful settings anywhere.
Hey guys! We will be here until Monday morning with the biggest C.C.s ever built. Come by and see us!
I know your right! My math had a 10k nice cruiser and 140k worth of obscene upgrades and still you are ahead of a 1 million plastic boat. I have to though the go to for me is a 40 footish fiberglass mid to late 60s commander.. Express? Oh man! Best of all worlds..
Boy…was I asleep on this one! We LOVE our Chris Crafts and we definitely love the CC cruisers. Matt, now that u know ur way to Traverse City, u could have swung by and picked up Schmaltzie and/or me on ur way West..
@Doug, I live in Langley, BC. So a couple hours north of you folks. 1 hour 35 mins ish to Seattle.
So to respond after the weekend, we had 67 boats, from 26′ to 65′ show up, mostly cruisers from 35′ to 65′ and we had 2662 feet of C.C.s on the dock, which represents more than a half mile! We have the largest gathering of Chris Craft boats in the world! Anybody disagree?
Hi Tim! We had a fantastic time at the Rendezvous! It was our first year and we wanted to thank everyone for their advice and generosity. Can’t wait to show you what it’s like next year!
