The Antique Boat Museum (ABM), the largest freshwater nautical Museum in the world, requires a full time Executive Director effective June 1, 2016. Situated on the St. Lawrence River in the beautiful 1000 Islands in upstate New York, ABM has grown exponentially in the last fifteen years, and the Board of Trustees is conducting a national search to identify outstanding leaders who have demonstrated executive experience, ( I HAVE BREN A PRESIDENT AND NOW A CEO) imagination, ( I WAS A CREATIVE DIRECTOR AND AWARD WINNING ART DIRECTOR ) and vision to lead the Museum through the next decade of growth as it becomes an international museum. ( I CAN LEAD AND WE HAVE A READER IN NEW ZEALAND, DOES CANADA COUNT? )

The Executive Director oversees a dynamic institution ( MY WIFE SAYS I BELONG IN AN INSTITUTION ) with a talented and committed staff of 40 full-time and part-time employees, an operating budget of approximately $1.6 million $200 thousand in annual capital projects, $23 million of assets, a 4.5 acre river campus with five recently constructed exhibit buildings and an extraordinary collection of over 320 antique boats.( I CAN DO ALL THAT AND OWN SOME BOATS.)

DOES IT GET BELOW 40 THERE?)  the appointment will be made by March 15, and the appointment will commence no later than June, 2016. More information about the Museum is available at www.abm.org. Starting salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and career accomplishments.

All kidding aside, this looks like the perfect job for someone that loves boats and museums and living in one of the most magical places on earth. You can read it all here without my smart aft comments. Good luck!

If Harrison could stay in one place for more than 5 days I would say this would be perfect for him.

Matt if you get it I will consider moving up there to be your Executive Secretary for no pay for the privilege of messing around in some of their boats. You know just to make sure they run right. I’d even be willing to oversee photo shoots with beautiful models so you don’t have to. How cold does it get up there?

Too bad we can’t vote on this… I would love to see you in a debate. On second thought, why don’t you skip this and run for Prez…?

Off topic but I was at a show 2 weeks ago and got my first look at the Silver Bullet. Except for the color no nod to the Silver Arrow. Nice boat but just another center consol,

This would be no-brainer for Donald Trump. Think of the possibilities!

The museum is closed in the winter months, so I am sure a wise candidate could negotiate the ability to spend most of the colder months down south working on fund raising and promotional activities. Perhaps open a lake Dora office.

See, now I am liking this idear more and more, like a school teacher thing. Although, just because its closed, doesnt mean there isnt a ton of work to do. Actually being able to live up there is an amazing oportunity. Simple wonderful life, good food, time to work on your boat, be around other boat people. Go to Canada and eat Canadian Bacon just as regular bacon. Then come back to the states and eat Merican bacon.. Get into hockey.. This is sounding better and better.

Is the Antique Boat Museum still planning to host the 2017 ACBS International? Or has that fizzled out?

If so, they should include that in the job description.

As of the Sept ACBS Board meeting, they are still all in, per one of their people who was in attendance.

I like the photoshopped Chris Crift next to the Jado. Here’s a pic of the Jado and staff on the backside of Idle Isle. Owned by General J. Leslie Kincaid.
