The Sunnyland Gang Sends Us A Message – Hang In There, Summer Is Just 30 Days Away

Canals are empty and boating was a 10 today
Long time fellow Woody Boater Pete DaVito from Florida sent us in this wonderful reminder that its always Woody Boating season! Take it away Pete!
“What a beautiful Valentine Day we had with Knotty Blonde on the water in Winter Haven today. We have a beautiful chain of small lakes throughout our city and the old Cypress Gardens now Legoland is located on one of them. The gardens are still there but now it is Legoland and a kids paradise. I thought I would share a few pictures with you. It was a beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies 72deg and the beer was just around 36deg at the drive thru. See you in a couple of weeks for the greatest show on earth..
All the best! Pete”

Drive thru for beer and a hot dog at the local bar on the water

“Bad to the Bone” with new power at the next stop along the way. No parking next to this guy!

Made it to Legoland for the noon ski show. I wanted to do a fly by but they see no humor in stuff like that.

Heading home after a great day on the water
Thanks Pete for the wonderful report and reminder that Lake Dora is only 30 Days Away! Woohooo
GOOD REPORT from Lake Shipp chain. Lots of boat ad history from the Cypress Garden water ski ramp cove. The Glasspar club had rally’s there and AOMCI goes each NOV ,I believe. My sister lives on that chain and the canals look inviting. Some vintage race members in that town
Hmmm. Looks a lot nicer than the -12* F I woke up to on Sunday, or the 12-18″ of definitely not summer than is falling today.
Looking forward to seeing Pete and Knotty Blond in just a few weeks!
Looks a little bit like the Port Sandfield area connecting Lake Rosseau to Lake Joseph, Ontario, Canada but right now you would need a snowmobile or ice skates to make the trip. Thanks for the inspiration point.
Pete, thanks for sharing those fabulous photos with us. Save some of that great weather for us for the show. Looking forward to seeing you & Gloria, and Knotty Blonde in just a few more days..
The first classic boat show that I went to was at Cypress Gardens in 1999, this was right after I purchased my boat. Low and behold as we are looking at the few boats that were there we run across a boat of the same make, model, and year as mind. Would not believe how often I used the pictures that I took of that very boat as I was rebuilding my boat.
Does anyone here know this boat and what ever happen to it?
