It’s something different. That’s good. Now, According to page 133 of Jerry Conrad’s book. The Essential Guide To Chris Crafts. Considered the go to for factoids. This boat would have come with a red interior. Also a sticker on the side of a very cool rocket, and 415 of them were made in the year 1947. The owner claims it to be 1 of 40. NOW hold on! The owner may be right. This is the charm of these boats. Chris Craft would do whatever the owner wanted. White interior. OK, Pez dispenser in the engine compartment. No… Only because Pez had not been invented yet! Ask the owner. He has the delivery photo of the boat. That will tell the story. These quirky things might also explain the 1 out of 40 number. And in the end… who gives a crap. It’s a very cool boat. Here is a shot of a perfect one on Mitch Lapoints site.

I love the Rockets, the boat that is on Mitch’s website I restored some years ago. The deck on the boats should be blue but I love the way it came out. The blue rockets came out to honor Chuck Yeagers mach something flight in the X rocket, I think it was the first faster than the speed of sound flight. The boats came with a 95 hp. engine and in the very light Rocket they are fast and fun. Mike

I had remembered your restoration from seeing it years ago, thats how impressed I was with it. I do love the innocence of the all blue though… What fun. I also love the decal.
