Have You Been To The New Antique Boat Center Website?

Tons of listings

OK, this is kinda old news. In fact I know it is, since we reported on the new site over a year ago. But its gotten better and filled out nicely. As is hands down the best website in the Classic Boat community. Sure there is the new ACBS site which is good and is also filling out nicely, but The Antique Boat Center site is thought through and designed well. They have figured out what you really want to know and see. And keep it fresh, which is important. I will also add that  its a reflection of a positive new energy there.

The Restoration Page is great

Oh Look, a Special racer!

Each Photo blows up!

The restorations are show quality and its showing in the fact that they are loaded with work and busy. And that’s good for all of us. Rob, Matt and the gang are working hard to raise the bar. So, visit the site, and this fall, visit them in human form. Its a wonderful thing to see an indoor boat show year around. Look for monthly seminars and open houses which are well attended and give you a chance to sniff the varnish when its 20 outside.

Lots of fun pages like “Ask The Captain”

I just scrolled through the 1958 Continental restoration and was delighted by the number and clarity of the pictures. A great help for an amateur like me to see the approach and execution by professionals. It was particularly interesting to see which original structural components were retained. I confess I am green with envy at those who can to flip a boat to work on it……

“Yankee Doodle”, if the same boat I am familiar with, belonged to a friend of mine at one time and was an incredibly original and preserved example. A “benchmark” boat if I ever saw one. It was also featured in “Classic Boating”. Was never for sale ( I tried). Joe finally relented when the Grandson (if I recall ) of the original owner showed up. I think the family made greeting cards in Colorado.
