Jon & Kait’s V8’s Vintage Engine Restoration.

What a beautiful baby you all made!
Today we start a wonderful week of hope and passion with a great team, who is taking the Vintage Boat Engine Business by storm. Yes a husband Wife team. How cool is this?

Show winning engines
They have learned from the best and decided to set out on their own 2 years years ago, and it’s been full throttle. A month-ish ago, they purchased a huge inventory of marine engines out of Oakland CA. Two containers worth. Parts and engines and more engines. They have some very cool game changing ideas on how to do business. And that is what new companies do. Energy and passion.

Cool logo!
Jon & Kait are located near Lake Hopatcong NJ, and Katz’s Marina has become there local dealer. Seth and the gang there are passionate about supporting the next generation. And as we all know, Seths standards are extremely high and Jon and Kait are firing on all cylinders.Finding all these young companies has been wonderful. It’s a great true sign of a healthy community and passion. Like a rebirth, it’s Springtime in Woodyboaterville. Here is a fun sample of their instagram page. A fun follow!

A very nice young couple who do great work. Exactly what our hobby needs!
Thanks Bob!
Very cool! Hard not to love a good marine V8.
We second that!
Good to see. There are way too few mechanics still around that know how to properly rebuild and maintain the old flat head marine engines. I wish them luck.
Thank you Greg!
Spoke with Kait a couple of years ago when they were starting out.
Glad to see they are going strong!!!!
Thanks Troy!
I would have sold them a big collection of vintage marine engines here on the east coast.
Cool, good to see young people working on old stuff. I wish them all the luck in the world.
Thank you Mark!
Love that sound. Great to see the next generation keeping the best of history alive.
Thank you Kelly!
It’s a hemi. But bigger than mine I have the smallest. A 273ci
Looks like they’re doing 6 cylinder Hercs as well? Love the M’s but oh so expensive to fix from exhaust manifolds to transmission clutch packs, etc. Welcome to the hobby and Good luck to these youngsters. I never thought I’d be saying that since 30 years ago when I got into, I was one of them, trying to raise my kids, attend all their extracurricular activities, write, print, and mail out a newsletter for our chapter and cut the grass. Now everyone is smoking it.
Hey that is my motor (mbl) that is shown as it is being torn down! Super happy with the result and more importantly how they do business. They already have a 2nd motor from me to do. Here is the motor all finished. Wish I could upload video of it running…
Thanks Andy!
Try again
Try again…
.
Almost speechless with admiration! What a great duo!
Thank you Jeffrey!
Very cool to see. Best of luck to Jon & Kait!
Thank you Chad!
Jon & Kait rebuilt my Chris Craft 327 last year, they really helped me out in a pinch. They got the engine back to me in a couple of weeks running stronger than ever. They were great to work with, great attitude, always happy to help.
My wife and I met Jon and Kait in Alex Bay last year at the ACBS show. We shared a dock at our motel and I admire their passion and knowledge of the old engines.
Outstanding…especially the first photo of that beautiful Chrysler Marine hemi! Keep up the good work kids!
