Original keys on ebay

One of the fun parts about doing Woody Boater is that each day brings new small details that are new to me. Maybe not to you, but to a novice like me, this is the sort of thing that floats my boat. Original keys for your boat are just a cool as heck detail that screams authentic goodness. Laugh all you want at my Zippers, and tool sets, but in the unlikely event your/my, boat is ever judged, an original ignition key could be the difference between being a winner of a LOOSER!  Or even better, just knowing that you are all original the way the gods intended it all to be, just completes the picture.

So you say, hey Mr Woody Boater, how do you know if you have the original key? Well, on your build sheet, it tells you the type of key and a number stamped into the key. Mine is a match. No after market key. By the way this scares the crap out of me, and I never remove it from the ignition. Now… toady could be your lucky day Mr No original key person. Cause if you have one of the matching numbers on your hull card, there is a fella on ebay sell’n original keys.

If you no longer have the original key, wouldn’t you need an original matching cylinder to go with it?

…and I’m probably the oldest guy reading these posts.

Got amused when talking to Terry Fiest the other day and he was saying antique boaters are getting older and commented, “I don’t have a guy working the docks this year who is under 80.” I replied “So ?”
