Tide Hell In Woodyboaterville – Happy Holloween.

Water water everywhere
Well, when ya live on the edge, as in right on the water line, you are gonna get wet from time to time. And for the past couple days, life here has been wet. Not rainy wet, but high tide wet, like super tides, and it has made working on the Woody Floater a bit more complex. Not to mention I have about an hr a day of time, so if it happens to be around high tide, well, thats another day down the drain. BTW, I would be happy with a drain. But?

A mess

Ziggy being a water dog
The dogs sure loved it, and yes the power is off, and yes that is a giant oyster. WHAT? you don’t have a giant oyster hanging around? More on that later, can we stay focused here. UGH.

Actually its a rather nice photo, very moody, and feels vintage in a way, 100%natural light

At least the floors will be clean
Queue Blondie’s “The Tide is High” (but I’m holding on).
OK, enough of the high tides! Inquiring minds gotta know-What is the giant oyster shell in image #2??
I second that!
Somehow I knew that would come up! HA, Stay tuned! WHAT? You think I am gonna give it all away in one story.
Just goes to show you how clueless I am. I thought it was some sort of mushroom. I figured Matt was getting into psycodelics (spelled WoodyBoater style) for Halloween.
I’m curious as to what you do with all of the wet sawdust. Can you stir in a little sugar and make cookies? Patch holes in the wall?
Too bad you’re not ready for final varnish. You certainly wouldn’t be kicking up any dust from the floor.
Matt,
You say, “At least the floors will be clean”. When floodwaters recede in this part of the country, everything is covered with mud. No mud or salt left behind when the water goes down there? Add me to those who want to know about that giant oyster!
At least you could get my chair out of the water? John in Va
Those are wood floors are they not? I would think with all that title action you’d get floated off your piers. No wonder your floors are always clean.
We have a lot of giant clams out here.
Wow! I like to eat oysters raw, right off the beach, but that one would be more than a mouthful!
When the water recedes, does it not all stink like a costal tidal flat???
The floors are wood? I assume plywood? Then there’s a wood frame underneath? Unless pressure treated, rot is only a matter of time. I would have thought it to be concrete. (But I’m sure you’re already aware).
can you raise the building?
