10,9,8… Tavares, We Are A Go!
As I am writing this, playing on the Radio is “The Final Countdown”..HA! Are you ready? Just 10 Days til Lake Dora. We have the Woodyboatermobile all ready, new signs for the tent, the T shirts are in. And no, I won’t be selling or setting aside any before the show. Ya gotta come if you want one! The Big Woody Trophy is all ready.

We are bringing just one of the 8 to Lake Dora to be handed out. Will you be the lucky holder of a Big Woody?
Cards.. Check, Special folding chars.. Check.. Sun Scream.. Check.. Camera, Ipad….I phone… Check, check, and check….What am I forgetting? OH! checks.. Money… Oh? This years flea market is going to be fantastic. And my daily ritual of Chicken on a stick. mmm salty chicken never tasted so good. I can feel my ankles swelling already. So take today and check your checks. It’s JUST 10 Days.. Ahhhhh wooohoooo.
Ahhhh. My life is so much simpler. No packing or making check lists. No final coats of varnish. No wondering if I’m worthy of a “Big Woody” (ok well maybe I’m not). No road trip or being stripped at airports (ok maybe that would be fun). Save all that money on gas and hotel rooms. Just get up every morning and go to work, sit in traffic, listen to the boss complain, listen to the wife and kids complain. WAAAAAAAAA, who am I kidding!! I want that chicken on a stick and varnish smell and warm weather and everything else!
Rick, maybe Matt can create a virtual experience, complete with chicken on a stick aroma & the sound of engines starting & a virtual flea market where you could actually buy things. Ok Matt, do your magic. Be sure to add the people!
You know I already have half a picture of WoodyWeiners, maybe a picture of chicken-on-a-stick to go with it. A picture of a nice frosty beverage would also not be bad. Or take it to the next level scratch-and-sniff pictures. I also remember as a kid my little sister had paper dolls with clothes that were held on with tabs…. paper Woody T-shirts!
Email them and use a large format printer. Man next year I’ve got to go.
My sympathies, Rick (or maybe not…). The idea of driving the Land Yacht for 4 of the next 7 or 8 days is already starting to hurt (my back and my pocket book, diesel prices are through the roof, Ouch!!!). But in just 9 more days the RV will be resting on the shore of Lake Dora at the Sunnyland Show (knock on freshly varnished mahogany). I look forward to watching Woody Boater enjoying his first chicken on a stick, being first in line for a new Woody Boater T-shirt (or 2), and being totally surrounded by Woody Boats of every make, model and size. WoooHooo!!!
Are you gonna have yachtsman hats for sale too?
Bob
I might depending on your size. lancaster is out of business. So what i have extra this year is it.
Those trophies are outstanding! I can’t remember if it’s good to get or good to not get one, though….
shooot!!! I want one!!
Go ahead and have your fun. My fun will be thinking about it. Must save my money for boat gas. I will save enough by not going all that way to run the boats all season. I am glad that everyone is making sure that Rick is still getting something to eat even if it is just the idea that makes the paper edible. Alas I will never have a Woody Boater Tshirt because I will never be in the same place at the same time as the shirts. Then again it is still more boat gas money laying around. And as far as the Big Woody Trophy, I have a couple brushes in cans in the shed that I can always pretend are trophies in their own wright. Good Luck and for your own sake, drive carefully and don’t eat too much anything on a stick.
I’m willing to share my paper buffet.
Gas prices always always go up in the spring, oil spills, Libya, whatever, then they go back down again. After Dora of course!
You’ll poke your eye out.
Ha! Now that’s funny. The hazards of eating chicken (or anything else) on a stick. There should be special insurance riders for that.
Any word on hats from Lancaster?
Wish I were headed to FL, looking forward to the pictures!
Dave
the hats are done at lancaster. but sadly they are going… gone out of business. We were the last order of there lives. They are closing there doors on Friday. i have asked for the entire shipment to be sent to me and I will ship out. Or bring to FLA.. We ordered some extras and those will come to fla for sale in person. No mail order.
Sad to hear! Will you let us know more about why?
