112 Days Tile Life Gets Back To Normal-iiiiiiish!

,

Sunrise Over Lake Dora

In about 4 months, we celebrate some sort of normalcy. Lake Dora. Its stopped being a show years ago, it has always been a gathering, a celebration, and start to our communities season. YA YA, folks in Florida go boating all year.. I get it, but our boats need a break, and that is why we have winter. To stop and work on our boats.

On the Dora Canal. A Gathering of love and friendship

This year of all the years, Lake Dora represents so much more than an event, a gathering, its a rebirth. Ya Ya I know to many, especially in Florida, many have just gone on with their lives. Okay can we just remove Florida from this conversation. For the rest of us. Its a pilgrimage, and light at the end of the tunnel. The first bird one sees on an ocean crossing, the glimmer of sunrise, the first time your wife smiles at you after you buy one to many boats. That’s what Lake Dora is. We need Lake Dora, we need the North Star, out community will be gathering this year, possibly in record numbers. And hopefully our abnormal lives can get back to abnormal.

It will be here sooner than we know.

Here’s to 112 Days til Lake Dora. I can smell the Jalapeno Poppers already.

Thanks for the uplifting story. The Michigan gang is feeling angry and saddened by the tragic event at Oxford High School yesterday. We are praying for the families directly affected and all the brave first responders that were involved. God bless them all.

Although I have never been there it will always be there in Woodyboaterville!! Looked like a great place and it always sounded like an adventure when you wrote about going there.

Is there anything good that comes from tearing down the past to build new??? At least Angel’s Diner in Palatka is still standing (actually I’d have to say leaning if you’ve ever been there and noticed the “architecture – it is Florida’s oldest diner tho for all those who have graced it on the St John’s River Cruise). And hopefully Twisty Treat is still there.

I think my new favorite hang out will have to be Hurricane Dockside Grill. (just around the corner from the old Palm Gardens)
