I appears theta the good folks on Hilton Head are showing off to the rest of us. While we are all starting the horrible process of putting our boats away, they want us all to know that its still boat’n time in beautiful South Carolina. OHHHHHHH, enjoy the fame South Carolina.. Florida, Texas and California are gonna stick it to ya in a month or so.. OH… and then it’s Austrailia, and New Zealand’s time! Just like the saying, there is always a bigger boat out there. There is always a nicer day someplace around the corner.

Thanks to fellow woody boater Terry Limehouse for reporting in from the big show in Hilton Head South Carolina. All kidding aside. I wish we would have been there! NOW.. Terry did send pics of the cards in front of the boats. But we are only able to read the headlines. So.. You know what that means.. We get to make them up!

    GREAT Show!

Yesterday I winterized and covered the last boat in my t-shirt only to wake up to snow flurries this morning.

Woke up to 30mph gusts and temps in the 40’s. Today’s blog makes me feel better at least knowing its nice somewhere. Don’t know if I would have made the Jag a woody. Great pic though.

Another great show in SC. 2 weeks ago the town of Georgetown held their show, a few weeks after a large section of downtown where the show is held burnt in a fire. 147 boats and over 800 served BBQ for dinner. They also have a skiff building completion that starts at noon and race across the bay at 4. This year two teams completed the task with a new record of 2 hours and 12 minutes. Teams consist of just two members, some of the teams were boat builders, while some were husband and wife and one team was a father and son team . I believe there were 12 or 14 boats constructed and raced in the 4 hour time frame.

Any one looking to add a boat show to your bucket list this is definitely on to do. Great opportunities to use your boat, lots of small stores for shopping for those who are not interested in boats and a large tent so you don’t miss the College football game. The town goes all out for this show.

Like Troy today I woke up to a thin layer of ice on the swimming pool. Good news Tavares show is not too far away!

    Matt:

I keep coming back to the header. Is that a real picture or photoshoped in ?

Something just doesn’t look right. Maybe it’s just me.

Its the real deal. In order to make it a header I did brighten up the upper right, de focused the background and cleaned up certain stuff like a drain. For headers that I view as art. i try and simplify them. But the shot is 90% intact. Here is the shot un touched from a slightly different angle than the header. One day I will do a header story on what I do to make it all work.

I think it was the way you blurred everthing but the boat that through me off.

Very nice! I am a big fan of your work.
