Big Show At Little Bohemia.

Little Bohemia is a lodge!
A huge shout out to the Wisconsin Chapter of The Sons Of Varnish for reporting in from the Little Bohemia show. Event? Hangout, gathering.. I have no idea. Why? What kinda reporting is this Mr Woody. Well.. the best kind. I just got a mountain of text messages with photos. No captions, just one line. Little Bohemia.. That’s it. Steve Bunda and Jim Staib, know how I like a report. No captions. Just stuff.

So cool. Wisconsin Cool, which is cold everywhere else.
I did do some google stuff, and tried to find out what Little Bohemia is? And holy crap! I am so going. This place is Woody Boater gold, and worthy of the haul for sure. Oh, and for those of you wishing I would do a Memorial Day Weekend salute. I don’t dare poke that bear again. I tried. But apparently there is some controversy over how to even acknowledge it. BTW, its socially acceptable to wish a Happy Memorial Day Weekend. A little off, but I was suggesting that it’s about the weekend, not the day of somber remembrance to acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice our fallen soldiers have given us. Why am I even talking about this again? AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Cool Canoes and a Buffalo check jacket! Wow!
And thankfully the weather looks like it was safe for Jim and Steve to be outdoors without life jackets on. Okay, now thats all out of the way.. I hope.. Here is the text message show.

Yellow, metel, and red trailer. A Classic technicolor combo punch.. With a little log cabin mix. WOW!

Winner of the best hatch award. It was an open and shut case!

Banjo wheels are always in style

Apple green boot stripes are the best!

Century Sea Foam green! AHHHHHHHHH! The color pallet of this show is insane nice

The red flag and Seafoam interior are to die for!

Simple wheel, and dash! Perfection.

It’s …the bomb?

I swear the Century designs are the best!

These are Steve Bundas Restorations and are jaw droppers. Sadly many people lost their jaws and spent the rest of the show looking for them in the grass and pine needles.

SCREEETCH! That engine cover needs a little somthn sumthn..

A new Corvette just to change it up

And a red Porsche from Florida?

BTW, these are the best 911’s of them all. Last of the air cooled, and drive like they are supposed to.

Oh hell ya, Guards Red 356 B. Nipple caps, luggage rack.

The number 1 car ever made in my book.

Perfection of timeless design

Good god! my head just exploaded. The perfect color combo on this Woody

With the lettering on the door! PERFECT

Steve and his Best in Show Award!

Steve getting his award.

WHHHHHHHAT? Yes, very cool, but violates the color pallet of the entire event. Cool though.

Oh boy! That is trouble.
And that is the report. The show, and here is a link to the Little Bohemia Lodge. Oh hell ya, and a Link to Steve Bundas shop, and another link to Jim Staibs place.
A great group of boats and a very cool location, but they always look better in the water. Thanks Jim and Steve.
The unknown triple is a 1928 Chris Craft. We are so far North the fenders are optional. Was a beautiful day for the Northwoods.
That is some waaaaay cool chit!…….
Actually I think Steve’s Champion sweatshirt wins best classic.
I have one in the cubby of my truck for cold emergencies.
Looks like a LOT of fun!!
Nice mix of cars also. I am rather fond of the Porsche hood ornament of the 80’s myself.
Talk about distracted driving!!
Thats one smuge you wouldn’t wipe off for awhile!
Uh that is one helluva fork in the road.
Ok, I’ve been checking WB off and on all day. I believe the girl on the hood is 80s porn star Ginger Lynn. Don’t ask me how I know this, because I will not release that information.😃
great story because of the boats and the cars; love the new white on white C8 but the woody panelled van is a close second; and good to see Troy hood ornament ; I was worried he was getting too politically correct
Insane cool gathering!
One slight adjustment , I am not the good looking guy with Jim Staib. Pictured is my good friend Jeff Spitzer from South Carolina. Jeff summers at Lake Lucerne and spends his quality time at the boat shop.
His 1942 Century Seamaid is a interesting story . I purchased it at auction years ago in Minocqua for 150 dollars site unseen because it was in a storage unit. Mike a woody boat guy was sitting next to me and kept poking me a saying buy it . He knew the boat and had helped work on it . Turned out to be complete and reframed with the correct rivets. I had it hanging in my building for years and tricked Jeff into buying it for less than 500 bucks with an engine or two that I also purchased.
Jeff never restored any boats but has excellent wood working skills and after hanging around in the boat shop and helping out he tackled the project. Took a few summers and a little coaching from me for Jeff to complete the project . ” The Manhattan Project ” went from firewood to first place winner . Good work Jeff .
Happy Memorial Day our Debt can never be fully paid to the fallen that have given all.
That 42 looks to be a 1941 SeaMaid 16’ round chinned runabout.
yup 1941 , fat fingers on the keyboard
We missed it this year. We were in Georgia for our Grandson’s High School Graduation. Looks like a great show and a great turnout.
wow, great story and pics! Needed that after a disappointing weather weekend here in ole Va.
Thanks to all!
John in Va.
Thanks for posting Steve. Had a great time.
Congrats to Jeff – I might know the guy that left the drool stains on Jeff’s seat cushions 😉
Cars and boats, now we talking, great looking show. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool story , glad it was shared…. thanks. Very cool to see a CENTURY get best of show and very well deserved in my opinion. Great looking boat and it has the gauge cluster/panel I need. I will probably have to make one. So cool to see all the classic cars with the boats. Sure does look like it was a great event.
Little Bohemia is legendary here in Sconnie, due to Mr. Dillinger and his friends. There’s an old resort at the end of our driveway a bit further south in Balsam Lake where Ma Barker and her family hung out. Like a lot of the resorts on the lake it was turned into a “condo” where families own the individual cabins and share the grounds. It’s a great set up; an affordable way to be on a lake and a nice sense of community.
A great show with great pictures, lots of neat stuff! Thank you! Looks like there’s more events on the horizon coming up. Matt, I believe your 356B is actually a C, check out the front hood…
Troy showed great restraint with the reference to nipple hubcaps!
Happy Memorial Day! What a great story. This is now on my woody boater destination place bucket list. Let take time to remember.
