Hurricane – 2010 Gar Wood headed out to enjoy the lake!

While at the show tucked away in a slip was one of the amazing newer Gar Woods that had a unusual looking side color. I actually missed it until it came out to play a bit.

Of course we were all set to go in the Ladonnes amazing Commander 19′. Only one thing could keep us from chasing our prey! POWER!

We were flying in that little glass screamer. And yet, without even hesitation the amazing Grey Blue sided Gar Wood just pulled away!

The Turcottes have done an amazing job on these newer custom Gar Woods. but this specific one is special. What apears to be grey is actually original optional color blue with varnish over it which gives it a grey tint. The results are spectacular! So enjoy the chase. At the end of the day on Saturday, the Turcottes went out for a little run! That thing should be called ” Like Butta” She just cut through the water like nothing was blowing!

Kent O Smith Jr was ready to capture the Hurricane as she left for home on Saturday during the big waves! WOW!

Love the Commander and LOVE the new Garwood! There were so many fabulous boats in attendance at Skaneateles, true “eye candy”! Thanks to all for such a fabulous show! Kudos to the boat show crew who were a tremendous help to me personally insofar as retrieving the Hagerty booth from the tree and lake. We had our own mini “hurricane” early Saturday morning!

The Turcotte boys have definitely figured this stuff out. The craftsmanship and detail on their boats is outstanding. My favorite was the 28′ Streamliner….

I’m curious which original flush deck 33′ Gar was used to take the lines off for this boat? The Eddie May?

I dunno about that side colour. In some shots it is darn near the same hue as the water.

And owning a boat with painted sides – I wish that ours was actually varnish and no paint. Our white on the sides shows EVERY SINGLE knick, knack, paddy, and whack.

We all want what we don’t have I guess.

I had the pleasure of going for a ride in two of the Turcotte Gar Woods last weekend. All I can say is If I could I would. A very smooth ride with a lot of power and elegance. Worth every penny if you can afford it.

What a great boat. I love the colour although it looks very green in most of the shots. Can get a sense of the blue in one of the shots. Fantastic!
