Classic Boats Make HUGE Splash In Seattle. Huge!
The big Seattle Boat Show Indoors and Afloat, is the West Coast largest boat show featuring more than 1000 recreational watercraft, from standup paddleboard’s to super yachts and everything in between. There are 3 acres of accessories 225 free boating and fishing seminars and all the latest boating gear. It runs between January 27 and February 4. And of course the classic boat community is there BIG TIME!

1955 Bally’s Speed Queen Kiddie Ride, owned and restored by Ike Kielgass.
This year the feature boat in our booth is a 1947 19 foot, Chris -Craft Racing Runabout. Owned by George Greer, and is a fresh restoration done by an amazing Northwest restorer Alan Thomle.

An amazing, Rocker Boat built by another very talented, amazing, Northwest Restorer Rob DaPron. He built this for his daughter.
OK, HUGER water skis
On display some amazing, historical, locally built water skis, the O’Brien was one of the first to use a cupped bottom and wood inlay.
Another ski is the VELROB made in Everett Washington.
They sure fit a hole lotta history in the small booth!
tremendously interesting water ski is the Dolphin Akwa Skee. We were told by a gentleman visiting our booth, that these were actually use for jumping. They really tied a rope between the two tips of the skis to keep them together. Built in 1925!
All kidding aside about the huge show, the great folks at the pacific Northwest Chapter of the ACBS have brought their “A” game to the event and.. OK, its a little lower case “a” but they are there, and we all should stand up and applaud. Why, because you are sitting on your fat aft reading this and they are out there trying – Go Ron! Go Huge!

Looks great. And I can add that it’s takes a huge effort and a lotta volunteerism to make that happen, headed up by the one and only Ron Stevenson. Way to go.

Nice display, great job PNC members. Just curious, our chapter use to do this but no longer due to lack of foresight by event coordinator. I assume the space is donated to you for use.
