It’s Saturday morning, and the 2010 Clayton Antique Boat Show & Auction is a bee hive of activity. The Antique & Classic Gar Wood Boats are polished up and ready to show off for the crowds of spectators and judges. There are approximately 40 Gar Wood boats on hand, so lets take a look at a few of these beautiful, timeless boats…
“Papas Dream” is a 1929 28ft Gar Wood powered by a 225HP Kermath 6 Cylinder. The boat was originally delivered to Lake George, York in 1929.

“Teddy Bear” is a 1930 28ft Gar Wood Sedan owned by Jean M. Hoffman, from Clifton Park, NJ.

“Sea Wolf” is a 1927 33ft Gar Wood Tripla Cockpit Runabout, owned by Lee R. Anderson from Nisswa, MN.

“Sea Wolf” is powered by a 400hp Liberty V-12.

“Well Done” a 1929 28ft Gar Wood triple cockpit runabout owned by Bill Fiekert, from Clayton, New York. This boat was originally shipped to Niagra Body Company in April 1929 in Buffalo, New York.

“Bucket List” a 1935 Gar Wood 20ft Utility purchased by Clarence Harrison for 1,195.00 in 1935.

“Time Piece” is a 1937 24ft Gar Wood owned by Jack Magri from Tavares, Florida.

Gar Wood historian and author Tony Mollica (in green) was on hand at the Antique Boat Museum to sign his latest book, Building Chris-Craft.

Dick and Linda Kish came to Clayton from Virginia with “Misty Morning” their perfectly restored 1947 22.5 ft Gar Wood Sedan.

This rare boat was originally painted blue on the hull sides by the Gar Wood factory for presentation at the 1947 New York Boat Show.

“Misty Morning” is powered by a Chrysler Royal Marine straight 8 engine.

“Magpie” is a 1940 20.5ft Gar Wood Utility owned by John & Karen Wayman.

“Finnish” a 1932 Gar Wood owned by David A. Fisher, from Canton, CT.

“Alibi” is a 1928 Gar Wood Triple Cockpit Runabout owned by Loren & Linda Sattler, from Toledo, Ohio.

Moments later they were having trouble deciding who was going to assist this nice lady with her new WoodyBoater Vintage Captain`s Cap. I can tell you there`s never a dull moment under the WoodyBoater tent!!
